Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. There were three official maps that were included in "Mann vs. Machine" mode. What are their names?

Answer: Decoy, Coaltown, Mannworks

Three official maps were released with the "MvM" mode: Decoy, Coaltown, and Mannworks. Each map features a certain number of missions players can choose (either two or three).
2. How does the player receive a bonus at the end of a round?

Answer: They must collect all cash dropped

In order to receive the extra $100, the player (or players) must collect all the money dropped by the enemies killed. Players must be quick because the cash will disappear over time. Scouts are vital if players wish to get the bonus because they are quick and can easily grab cash while avoiding most enemy fire.
3. "Mann vs. Machine" mode features two sub-modes: "Boot Camp" and "Mann Up". While "Boot Camp" is accessible to everyone from the start, "Mann Up" is not. What must one do to access this other mode?

Answer: They must have a "Mann Up" ticket

"Mann Up" mode can only be accessed with a "Mann Up" ticket which costs .99 cents and can be purchased at the Mann Co. store. Although this mode is harder than "Boot Camp", players who successfully complete a certain number of "Mann Up" missions can receive special weapons and cosmetic items. They also receive a special badge as a token for completing missions in "Mann Up" mode.
4. What is the maximum amount of time a team is given for setting up?

Answer: 150 seconds

Once one of your team members presses the "F4" key, a counter is turned on and the team is given 150 seconds to prepare for the coming wave of enemies. If another team member presses "F4", the set up time is reduced by twenty seconds. If all members press the "F4" key at around the same time, the timer will automatically go down to ten seconds.
5. How many types of canteens are there?

Answer: Five

The four types of canteens, available to eight out of the nine classes, are five seconds of critical hits, five seconds of Ubercharge, instant ammo refill, and a teleport back to the spawn (which also gives a few seconds of speed.) The fifth type is only available to the Engineer and it allows him to automatically build a level 3 building.

This can be extremely helpful when a player wants to build something quickly in the heat of battle.
6. If the bomb carrier holds the bomb for a while, it can activate different buffs depending on how long the bomb has been in its hands. The first buff will give it, and all its buddies around him, an increase in defense. The second buff creates health regeneration. What is the final buff?

Answer: Critical hits

The final buff will give the carrier and its friends around them critical hits. This is why it is important to take down the bomb carrier as soon as possible. Not only will this prevent the bomb from getting further, it will prevent the enemies from getting any special power-ups.
7. What is the significance of the blue arrows in each map?

Answer: They are markers that show the path the bomb carrier will take

The blue arrows are markers that show the pathway the bomb carrier will take to get to the hole. Team members, especially engineers, can use these and build their sentries accordingly. The pathway changes each new wave.
8. Sentry busters cannot be defeated, only outrun.

Answer: False

This is false; sentry busters CAN be killed before they reach their target. If your team is organized, with the right upgrades, sentry busters can be very easy to take down with each wave progression.
9. What does a "squad surplus" voucher do?

Answer: Gives everyone on the team an extra item

The voucher allows all players on the team to receive an extra item on completion of a "Mann Up" mission. The more vouchers used among a team, the more extra items the team will receive. They cost a dollar more than a regular "Mann Up" ticket.
10. Which class did not have a robot version of themselves when Mann vs. Machine was first released?

Answer: engineer

Every class in "Team Fortress 2" had a robot counterpart except for the Engineer. It wasn't until the "Mecha Update" that an engineer robot was put into the game.
