Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Hearts of Stone", Geralt was sent to the sewers of Oxenfurt to defeat a monster that had been killing people. There was also a rumour that a prince had been turned into a creature and needed a woman's kiss to turn him back. What type of animal was in the sewer?

Answer: A toad

The creature in the sewers was no simple toad. It was huge and could spit poisonous bile. Geralt managed to defeat the monster, but then things became complicated. It turned out that rumours of a prince were partially true. Upon its death, the toad turned back into a man - an Ofieri prince to be exact.
2. A mysterious individual known as Gaunter O'Dimm rescued Geralt from a death sentence. What did Geralt have to do in return?

Answer: Grant three wishes to Olgierd von Everec

Gaunter O'Dimm was a secretive, enigmatic character who appeared to have numerous magical abilities: he could pause time, create magical worlds, and had the power to grant wishes. Gaunter - otherwise known as Master Mirror - had made a pact with Olgierd. Olgierd's wishes would come true and then Gaunter would gain possession of the man's soul. Master Mirror enlisted the help of Geralt to fulfil Olgierd's wishes. 'Be careful what you wish for' was a key theme in his story.
3. Geralt ran into an old acquaintance who helped him with some of his quests in "Hearts of Stone". What was the name of the medic who had been healing soldiers on the front line?

Answer: Shani

Shani had trained as a medic at Oxenfurt Academy. She had appeared in a previous "Witcher" game and turned up again in "Hearts of Stone". Gearlt found her in the sewers trying to resuscitate a soldier. They had been sent below Oxenfurt to collect a sample of the toad creature's venom. After the toad problem had been resolved, Shani helped Geralt fulfil Olgierd's wishes.
4. In "Hearts of Stone", which event did Geralt attend, along with a ghost and an old friend?

Answer: A wedding

Gerlat was tasked with showing Olgierd's brother a good time. The problem was, Vlodimir was dead. Luckily, his ghost was able to possess Geralt's body and the two of them went to the wedding with Shani. Shani and Vlodimir/ Geralt took part in lots of different events at the party, including herding pigs and diving for shoes. (There were more typical activities like drinking and dancing, too.)
5. A new craftsman was introduced in "Hearts of Stone". Which type of artisan could give Geralt a boost in combat?

Answer: Runewright

With "Hearts of Stone" an Ofieri runewright appeared at Upper Mill, though sadly without his tools. Once Geralt helped him find the materials he needed (and paid a pretty hefty start-up fee), the man would make runewords and glyphwords to improve Geralt's equipment.

The glyphword Deflection, for example, would divert arrows when it was added to a piece of armour and Eruption could make enemies explode.
6. Gwent was a card game that Geralt could play throughout "Witcher 3: Wild HUnt". Which Gwent deck became available in "Blood and Wine"?

Answer: Skellige

The Skellige deck arrived with "Blood and Wine". It featured a new type of weather card, two new leader cards, and a range of combat cards with 'tight bond' or 'brotherhood' abilities (which provided a boost to the player's score). Three new hero cards were also added: Cerys, Hjalmar, and Ermion. The cards could be bought, or won in games against merchants.
7. Who invited Geralt to Toussaint with a contract in "Blood and Wine"?

Answer: Duchess Anna Henrietta

In Toussaint, knights had been murdered and the evidence suggested that it was the work of a monster. Two knights journeyed to Velen to offer Geralt a contract to find the culprit. The Duchess has requested him personally. "Blood and Wine" was a pretty huge expansion pack. It opened up a whole new country (Toussaint) and offered over 90 new quests.
8. Scurvers were a new kind of monster introduced in "Blood and Wine". What hazard did they present when they were near death?

Answer: They exploded and dealt damage to anyone in range.

Scurvers were similar to the rotfiends of the base game, though the new monsters had spikes covering their bodies. When they were in combat and about to die, they would explode, just as rotfiends did. They presented an additional problem, however: when they exploded, their sharp spines flew out and caused additional damage to anyone nearby. Scurvers were attracted to blood and would appear around dead bodies.
9. Which of these events was not part of the knights' tournament in "The Warble of a Smitten Knight" quest?

Answer: A diving contest

In "The Warble of a Smitten Knight" quest, Geralt took part in a tournament on behalf of an injured knight. There were three main parts to the tournemnt. First, Geralt had to go head-to-head against a knight in a crossbow shooting chellenge. Next was a timed horse race with dummies to slash and targets to hit with an arrow.

In the final round, the participating knights were split into two teams. The teams had to fight each other until one side was completely knocked out.
10. Geralt became a property owner in "Blood and Wine". What kind of establishment was he given?

Answer: A vineyard

The Duchess granted Geralt the deeds to a vineyard that he could use as a base while he ivestigated the string of murders. Players could purchase upgrades, such as a grindstone to buff swords and a greenhouse to grow the herbs needed in alchemy. Any weapons or suits of armour that Geralt had collected could be put on display, too. Upgrading the guestroom would also lead to an unexpected visitor...
