The Zulu people believe that Unkulunkulu sprung from the reeds and created all animals, water, mountains, the sun, and the moon. They also considered him to be the same as Adam, the first man to walk on earth.

The Zulus, or "The People of the Heavens", were once just a group of clans until they were united by King Shaka in the early 1800s. They were well known for fighting fearlessly against all odds. Head bands are only worn by married men. Women wear goat or cattle skin skirts. Bare chests of unmarried women are covered by beads.

10. What unusual clothing do the Tuareg men wear?

Answer: Veil

The Tuareg follow Islam, coupled with a belief in local deities. From the age of 18, Tuareg men wear a veil that completely covers their head other than the eyes. The women do not wear a veil at all, though married women cover their hair with a scarf. Unlike most Islamic customs the Tuareg women actually lead the family, are able to have premarital sex, and are permitted to divorce and marry again without any stigma.
