Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What characteristic separated the Chevy Bel-Air from the more expensive Impala in most years?

Answer: Fewer Tail Lamps

Impala and Caprice usually had three tail lamps on each side and the Bel-Air and Biscayne only had two.
2. Who made the Eagle?

Answer: American Motors

This was the last car in the American Motors line before Chrysler bought them out.
3. Which car in 1963 was known for its famous split window?

Answer: Corvette Sting Ray

Many owners complained about rear window visibility and Chevrolet "solved" the "problem" by making the window one-piece in 1964. This makes the '63 model very desirable to collectors.
4. What was the last year for the Chevrolet Corvair?

Answer: 1969

Ralph Nader's book "Unsafe at any Speed" published in 1965 spelled the beginning of the end for this model. I personally loved the car.
5. What was the last year Ford made a four-door Thunderbird?

Answer: 1971

Never really popular, it's still worth checking out as a collectible. In 1972 the T-Bird began sharing its body with the Lincoln Mark IV.
6. The Chevy II never had a convertible model.

Answer: False

Chevy made a convertible version of the Chevy II from 1963 to 1964. In 1967, the Chevy II was renamed the Nova.
7. What was the original price for a 1971 Pinto when it debuted?

Answer: $1919

The Maverick came out a year earlier and its price started at $1995.
8. After a ten year absence, Ford re-introduced a convertible version of the Mustang in what year?

Answer: 1983

I was so excited when it came out, I had to buy one. I was only making $6.00 an hour at the time and almost went broke paying for the $14,000 car.
9. Until the early 1990s, this car company was known for its "portholes" on the front fenders.

Answer: Buick

The Buicks from the 40s and 50s had HUGE portholes.
10. Which car model never had a convertible model?

Answer: AMC Javelin

Really cool car, would have really looked nice in convertible form.
