John F. Kennedy was elected president in 1960, beating out Republican vice-president Richard Nixon in one of the slimmest margins of victory in U.S. history. Kennedy was inaugurated on January 20th, 1961, becoming the youngest elected president at the age of 43. Teddy Roosevelt was the youngest president at his inauguration at 42.
2. Which Kennedy sister founded the Special Olympics?

Answer: Eunice Kennedy Shriver

Eunice founded the Special Olympics after having worked for many years with her sister Rosemary who was born retarded.
3. Bobby Kennedy was a senator from which state from 1964 until his death in 1968?

Answer: New York

Robert Kennedy was a popular political figure at the time of his brother's death in 1963. Bobby himself felt it was his duty to carry on the torch for the Kennedys in politics so he ran for U.S. Senate in 1964 from the state of New York. Brother Ted already had a seat from Massachusetts. I hope I'm spelling Mass. correctly. Let me know if I'm not.

Joe Jr. was the eldest brother, born in 1915. He died tragically in a plane crash during a World War II mission.

I'm not exactly sure how he got the nickname. If anyone knows, please let me know. As well as being mayor of Boston, Honey Fitz was also a congressman. In fact, Jack Kennedy's first political seat was the seat his grandfather held years prior.

Answer: Henry Cabot Lodge

Lodge thought he would win the race without a problem. In fact, he campaigned for Eisenhower more than for himself. His defeat was a huge surprise to political pundits and a huge win for Kennedy. 'When you beat Lodge, you beat the best' was a popular slogan that Kennedy insiders used at the time.
8. Who was Jack Kennedy's campaign manager for the 1952 senate race?

Answer: Bobby Kennedy

After the 1952 race, Bobby Kennedy became a major force in politics. He was a great organizer, had a great ability to get what he wanted and was a significant figure in all of Jack's campaigns.

Answer: Jackie Kennedy

Jack's pulitzer prize winning book on courage in politics was dedicated 'to my wife.'
