Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which U.S. president was known as "The Veto President"?

Answer: Grover Cleveland

Grover Cleveland earned the nickname "Veto President" by vetoing 414 bills during his first term in office. He shot down those bills because Congress had been using taxpayer dollars to buy votes. He prevented the British from capturing New Orleans and using it as a stronghold. It was the last sizable battle of the war and actually continued for nearly a month after the war was over.

The hickory tree is one of the hardest types of wood and the tree is considered to be a symbol of strength and toughness; the same qualities which Jackson possessed and displayed at the Battle of New Orleans.
