The MP for Lichfield, in Staffordshire. He wears an amusing blond wig.

Answer: Liberal Democrat

Oaten was elected MP for Winchester in a by-election, originally by just 2 votes. The election was re-run, and he won by considerably more. He was the Lib Dem party chairman.
3. Of which UK political party was David Trimble a member at the 2002 election?

Answer: Ulster Unionist

Trimble was leader of the Ulster Unionists from 1995-2005. In 2006, he was given a seat in the House of Lords, as Baron Trimble of Lisnagarvey. Trimble left the UUP in 2007 and joined the main UK Conservative Party, in order to play a fuller part in British politics.

This ultra-New Labour former adviser to Tony Blair was rather improbably the MP for South Shields from 2001-13. In 2010, he was beaten in his bid to become leader of the Labour Party by his brother, Ed, and in 2013 resigned his parliamentary seat to take up a lucrative post as President of the International Rescue Committee in New York.

This Oscar-winning actress was first elected MP for Hampstead and Highgate in 1992. In the event, her successor, Tulip Siddiq, increased the Labour Party's majority (but not by much) to 1,138.
