The Burj Al Arab is known for it luxuriousness. It is a five-star hotel with several highly rated restaurants, an aquarium and a helipad. The hotel is frequented by celebrities, royalty and wealthy businesspeople. It is also a frequent film location for many TV series and films.

5. Raffles Hotel

Singapore's Raffles Hotel, once called Emerson's Hotel, is the most famous hotel on the island. It opened in 1887 and is built in the colonial style. The Raffles Hotel played a historical significance during World War II. When the Japanese occupied the island, many of Singapore's treasures were hidden inside the hotel.
A legend states that when the Japanese first entered the hotel, they encountered dancers waltzing unafraid of the occupation.
6. Luxor Las Vegas

Although it is called the Luxor Las Vegas, the hotel (like many famous Vegas hotels) is actually located in the nearby town of Paradise, Nevada. The Luxor is modeled after an Egyptian pyramid with a ziggurat and a Sphinx also being part of the grounds.

The hotel was made famous by American bobsledder Billy Fiske who, during World War II, would stay at the hotel and jump from the chandelier.
