This is to honour the Swedish Fighter Jet Squadron No. 1, which left its premises to Koenigsegg after being shut down in 2003. The ghost was the squadron's symbol. The Koenigsegg crew feels they have taken over the legacy of the squadron, and shows this by marking their latest creation with it.
A horse is used by several car manufactures such as Ferrari, Porsche and Ford. Lamborghini has a bull as their logo. An airplane propeller is also used by multiple companies. Spyker, Aston Martin and even BMW have a logo that resembles an airplane propeller.

This Swedish manufacture started in Olofström, later moving to Ängelholm. Both in Sweden. Trondheim and Bergen are two cities in Norway, but they have got nothing to do with Koenigsegg.

The engine used in the CCR is the same engine used in the CC 8S. They only "tinkered" this engine so it produces 806 bhp instead of the 655 bhp. The V8 has an astounding output of 920 Nm.

Although the CCR gets 151 bhp more then its predecessor, it only puts 5 kg more on the scale. This weight gain is all due to the engine that weights 215 kg.

The 1993 McLaren F1 held the record for the world's fastest production automobile for 12 years (374.1 km/h or 232.5 mph). It's replacement, 9ff's Porsche GT2, lasted just over a month (387.9 km/h 241.1 mph). The Koenigsegg CCR brought this record up to 390 km/h or 242.42 mph at Italy's Nardo test track.

While delighted with the news, company owner Christian von Koenigsegg was quick to point out that Nardo Prototipo is a circular test track; he reckons the CCR would top out at 397 km/h or 247 mph in a straight line. At the moment of this writing Koenigsegg still holds this record, but the Bugatti Veyron top over 400 km/h or 248.6 mph.

This was not a actual record attempt so it is not recognized, but they will make an attempt to this title.

The wheels for the Koenigsegg are from an advanced magnesium alloy to achieve their strength and lightweight characteristics. The car has 19" front wheels and 20" rear wheels. The very large front wheels on the CCR are necessary in part to allow greater cornering speed, in part to leave room for the large CCR brakes. The semi monocoque chassis is made of carbon fibre.
