In Waco TX for tomorrow's total eclipse, and all will be visible from my son's backyard. Hoping the prediction of cloudiness will prove inaccurate. I traveled to southern Illinois for the most recent one, and the entire event is carved in my memory. I have complete respect for the sun. Highly recommend for everyone's bucket list. Reply #35735. Oh dear. Well, if you come to the UK get ready for an onslaught. I know that the British, particularly the English, are supposed to be reserved but be prepared for a deluge of endearments from people you'll never see again, like taxi drivers, shop assistants, and market traders. Here are just a few: pet, ducks, love, kidder, boyo, mucker, hen, darlin', dearie, chick, mate, sweetheart, flower, maidie, and endless local variations depending where you are. I'm expecting a delivery of groceries tomorrow, from my anonymous internet retailer of choice. It will be delivered by a man/woman I've never seen before nor will ever see again, but I know that when I answer the door, the driver will say something like "Alright, meducks? Where'd you want this lot, lovey?" to which the only reply needed is an "Hello. Can you leave it there for me?" And then he or she will be off, with a cheery "have a good evening, tara!"
