Subject: The Official Share a Story Thread

Posted by: Terry
Date: Aug 24 12

If you are directed here by a FunTrivia challenge, please reply ONLY in this thread for the challenge. Only posts made here will count towards your challenge!

[ And no, you will be DIRECTED to come here. Posting here without having an already issued challenge will not result in anything! Still, you can post a story if you feel like it anyway ;) ]

If sent here, the title says it all. Your challenge is to share a story.

Tell us, briefly, about something funny or interesting that has happened to you recently. Or something sad. Or something scary. Or something exciting. Something funny or strange you saw?

If nothing funny or interesting or scary or exciting has happened, then write us a poem. Or a song. Or tell us a joke.

Or just tell us what you did today. Did all you accomplish was to brush your teeth? Did you fail to even do that? Do share...

Feeling grumpy today? Tell us what irritates you. What TV show can't you stand? What TV show are you watching that you like?

So go ahead, we're listening. The only rules are that you be polite and follow our very simple rules up above.

Tell us a story...

I love that, flopsy! The Brits are so funny in movies, so this doesn't surprise me much.

My favourite sports team - Portsmouth Football Club Women will clinch their league title on 21st with just a draw vs Cheltenham Town Ladies. It will be the culmination of many years of effort by a number of people and we will be celebrating!

Today is the big day for the total solar eclipse. I guess I must be odd, I really am not excited. Work places, schools and lots of businesses are closed today to observe the eclipse. I am working so I don’t see the big deal. Have a great day everyone. ???

18 months to rebuild my house after Hurricane Ian and inflation was such that it took the policy limit and I still need a roof

The Sahara dusty wind is now blowing into Spain for the last week. Everything is covered in red sand.
Cant open windows as the dust ends up inside the house as well.

I just don't feel like myself lately.
FunTrivia is one of the few things I can sort of retreat to.
I loathe my long-time medical conditions (which I won't bore you with)... if I ever woke up feeling normal I wouldn't know what to do, it's been so long since I felt anything remotely "normal-ish"...

I am looking forward to working on the "Bingo" challenge. It looks like an opportunity to teach myself stuff.

Yesterday saw the official start of "Masters Week" in Augusta, Ga. I had a chance to walk Augusta National Golf Club's course over the weekend. The television does not do justice; the drastic changes in altitude on the holes (50 feet in some cases), the undulations and ridges in the greens, the perfections in the manicuring of the fairways is amazing. Despite the inflation here, the two staple sandwiches there, the Pimento Cheese sandwich and the Egg Salad sandwich still cost only $1.50 US in 2024. They make it up on the prices of souvenirs, shirts, etc.
