By the way, moderators, I think there is an error on my badge. I've only been Immortal twice, and there is a green check mark next to Tier 3. Wouldn't I have that check mark if I'd been Immortal 3 times? Or am I missing something? Thank you!

Odd that there has been no answer to the previous question in so many hours. Is there a precedent for what to do when it is found someone was awarded a tier by error, assuming the facts in this case are as they appear?
It may be easy enough for admins to check the number of times one player has reached a certain endpoint two or three times, but what about checking hundreds of players to see if they have reached a certain endpoint 15 or more times? Could get ugly. FT is dependent on computer code for so many things. Some errors in code are easier to find and fix than others.

Is there a reason why no one has replied... Oh dear, should admins be allowed to have a life? ;)

I've sent a message to the admin-most-likely to have the relevant data (manual or coded) while there's no GC underway, and no doubt he'll get back to me/post here when he's had time to look into it.

Thanks, flopsymopsy. I would hate for Terry or whomever to have to go back and manually change other players' tiers, but I don't want something I haven't earned, so I would like him to fix mine.

The Global Challenge has started. If you want a quick start, time to play the first set.

Favorite Difficult Daily Challenge again today: the target was 13,240 cumulative GC points today. Actual total? 14,667. By the way, I am aware of the thread called "Favorite Daily Challenge" (I've posted there.) I'm actually unable to decide on that one. But the GC cumulative daily score one is my favorite *Difficult* Daily Challenge, and that extra word does make a difference for me.

Hi. Asking here because I didn’t think it was clear on the badge information (or might just be me but I’ll ask anyway).

I’m giving Hardcore a go, is it the top ten finishers that don’t already have Hardcore Winner that are awarded it? If so it’s almost given just for turning up at this stage! Is there a minimum level to get to or do you just need to stay within the top 125 to make sure… which again, isn’t very hard right now.

Thanks!

It is the top 10 who don't already have the Hardcore Winner badge. Do you can safely ignore all those (including me) who have the Hardcore Winner appellation in the rankings.

Thanks. I thought so but then it looked like it might be too easy so started questioning it!

Hardcore immortal is out of my reach so once I’m certain I’m well ahead of the 11th person I might just try and coast it.

I’m assuming hardcore immortal is out of my reach, I’m on 24.9% through Nimble Noggins… not sure how that compares to the current last placed potential ‘new immortal’.

Looking at the list of final standings in hardcore from October 2022 (march 2023 does not seem to be there) it looks like the final awardee of Hardcore Winner was right at the bottom of Nimble Noggins although its confusing because there are some players who were more advanced in nimble noggins that don't seem to have been awarded it.

I think to be safe I only need to get through Smartypants. Hardcore Winner isn't much of a test anymore is it? I guess the real challenge is Hardcore Immortal.

There was one challenge a few years back when there were 12 people who made Hardcore Immortal but did not yet have Hardcore Winner, so 2 of those got what is normally the harder one but not the easier. Other than that, Hardcore Winner has required less than Immortal.

The most important thing is to play consistently and not get discouraged when you get less than 10 correct (or take more than 130 seconds, but if that is a problem, then use a stopwatch to make sure you submit on time). Also, it doesn't hurt to play Impossible for those rare times you get credit for it.

Thanks Andy.

I'm after Hardcore Winner this time, which looks harder for me to fail than achieve at this point and I shall be telling everyone on my team that doesn't have it how simple the requirement has become... for next GC ;-)

I think I've just strayed too far already to think about Hardcore Immortal, it's so long since I played GC that I made some foolish mistakes and also missed some sets which is a no no for me if I'm going to have a chance of Immortal. I haven't managed a 10 yet in Impossible but I play it every set (at least every set that I play).

Pleased to see pro wrestling today.

Does anyone else look straight at the double stars to see how many one stars they'll have to risk haha

Think I’m taking it too seriously.

After work last night and after everything was sorted I tried to play GC but I only got half of the topics as a Scot that counted because I was quite literally nodding off half way through the quizzes for a few seconds at a time and then awakening and trying to finish it… so 130 seconds wasn’t easy. I got 131 on one of those that didn’t count! Gutted.

On the positive side, I managed to get a scoring impossible game for the first time this GC run! Yay! I should play impossible whilst half asleep in future!

How exactly does someone earn the GC: Victorious badge? I think "finish GC in top 60 players" means the top 60 in the list shown when you click on the link "Top 125 Players (Hardcore)" and the top 60 in the list shown when you click "Top 125 Players (Normal)". Each is considered separately.
Since I received the Immortal level previously, I figured I might have reached the top 60 previously, so I went through prior final scores for the previous Global Challenges, and I found me at #41 here.
link https://www.funtrivia.com/minigame/hall/10-top100.html

Does that qualify me for the badge & I was just overlooked or am I not understanding the criteria?
I believe it is retroactive considering the number of people who received the badge & who are already at high tiers.

The GC Victorious badge has not been around nearly as long as the Immortal or Hardcore Immortal badges, so making Immortal in the past would not have qualified you for GC Victorious if it had happened *before* that badge occurred. Furthermore, even recently, it is possible to finish as an Immortal in Normal Mode and *not* finish in the Top 60 there, so there are people each run who qualify for Immortal but not GC Victorious. Only a look at the standings of the exact run (and when it was) that you feel you may have qualified could clarify the issue further.

I can't tell from the link that was posted when this was. Certainly GC Victorious was *not* a badge anyone was grandfathered in when it was created.
