Buddy, it looks like the standings you posted were from a challenge that completed in 2009. The "Victorious" badges didn't come out until 2018 and, unlike the Immortal upgrades, were not awarded retroactively. After my last post I decided it was an unhealthy obsession so stopped under the assumption that I was already far enough into Hardcore to pick up the badge (I know, I know, back door badgery). We have reached 100 players in Normal Mode who have achieved Division 10 (Immortal.) This information was posted in the Discussion Forums this morning and Terry responded by saying the current Global Challenge set will be the last one as he plans to shut down the run. Yes. I see that one of my Daily Challenges today was to finish in the top 50% of one of the Global Challenge games today. Obviously, that isn't going to happen as I played no GC games today. Nevertheless, I see that loss of a Daily Challenge as a small price to pay for shutting down a GC run that needed to be shut down. As it was an Easy Challenge, I'm not going to even bother with using one of my switch out a Challenge perks for it as I have plenty of Easy Challenges done - it's the Difficult Challenges that I really need and save my perks for. You would think that since this Challenge business happens *every time* the GC is closed maybe it could be anticipated and dealt with, but apparently not. It's like "Fifty First Dates" - What? Results from the last Global Challenge run are now in and available on the Global Challenge page. Badges and upgrades from that run have been awarded. The Global Challenge page also states that the next Global Challenge run will begin around noon on Monday, September 4th. The next GC will start on the Tuesday after Labor Day at around noon FT time. For the rest of the world, which doesn't have Labor Day, the next Global Challenge will start on Tuesday 5th September when Terry gets up. Or remembers. About noon, FT time. I keep thinking of maybe going back to the GC, mainly to see if I could pick up "Victorious" while the game as we know it still exists ... but it's kind of hard to imagine doing it all again, much less making a qualifying finish. I wonder if in a way, Hardcore might be worth considering -- being in the "top 60" might be less daunting in the mode that generally has fewer people playing it. Certainly a challenge either way! Definitely consider giving hardcore a try. It's both frustrating and a lot of fun at the same time. It's not all that difficult to make the top 60 (in the challenge that ended in February, you just needed to get near the top of level 8). Reply #9958. Sep 05 23, 3:29 PM |
