Joram and Evaine discuss many possibilities while visiting their father's body. They are confused because unlike with Jeb and Alister's body (which while preserved do show some signs of decomposing) they cannot "read" the death "memories". Evaine thinks Camber did indeed perform a spell which put his soul and body into limbo, while Joram is worried that Camber may indeed be a saint.

"The Codex Derynianus" was discovered in the R'Kassi dessert and translated in the fifth year of Kelson's reign, quite a few years in the future from where we are. Evaine actually researched the other manuscripts extensively in hopes of finding a way to revive her father.

In order typically called upon: Raphael represents the Healer, guardian of air and wind; Michael represents the Defender, fire and Prince of Heaven; Gabriel represents water and is the Heavenly Herald; and Uriel is The Dark Lord of Earth, who escorts all into death. Selaphiel, Jegudiel, and Barachiel are also considered archangels but are not typically a part of Deryni warding.

Tavis was Javan's personal healer, and the regents, for the most part, left him alone. Oriel was a pet Deryni who served Hubert and Tammaron mainly, while Carmody was controlled by Rhun. Both Oriel and Dermot were controlled by the fact that the regents held their wives and children hostage and let it be known that they would be killed immediately for any disobedience whatsoever by the Deryni. Ursin and Tavis actually attended the same school when younger.

Basically the Custodes were created for very simple reasons, these being to prevent any Deryni from entering the priesthood and to insure no Deryni remained in any position of power; by also making them a military group the regents insured that they had a easy and quick way of dealing with any insurrections, although they were not founded to be personal guards.

Hubert was very pleased to help Javan on his way towards priesthood, after all, with him out of the way and Alroy being so sickly the regents could remain in power for many more years through Rhys Michael's regency.

In an earlier quiz I mentioned that Revan and the "blocking" ability would have a huge impact on the Deryni people. When it was discovered that Sylvan also could block it gave the Camberian Council a way to attempt to hide the Deryni by making Revan a Christlike figure who was leading a religious movement which cleansed the Deryni by removing their powers. Patrick, Joachim and Gillebert were all reformed Willimite followers who became Revan's disciples.

Evaine actually had access to all but the Blue One when Camber "died" This legendary scroll was called The Scroll of Daring and Evaine thought that it might hold the answers she needed if she could only find it.

This was the second time Evaine had assumed the "Brother John" persona; the first was when Camber was assimilating Alister's memories. Father Burton and Father Secorim were both priests in the Custodes Fidei while Father Aloysius was a priest at Valoret Cathedral.

The Fifth Protocol was the Blue one and dealt with healing among other things. The wands became symbolic of the Camberian Council, and the Codex Orini was to contain many clues which would help Evaine later. Although Orin and possibly Jodotha were mebers of the Airsid, basically nothing has ever been found concerning this mysterious order.

Evaine was praying by Camber's body when she had a dream in which a being showed her flowing rings; she deduced that the rings of Orin and Jodotha somehow held the key so she experimented by putting them together. Jodotha's fit inside Orin's and provided a lens which showed Orin's secret writings concerning very powerful spells.

Marcus Concannon was Chancellor General who would be in charge of the seminaries. Peter Sinclair, who took the religious name of Albertus was Grand Master in charge of the knights and Seraphin was named as Inquisitor General.

Torcuill was actually originally a member of the royal council and a known Deryni. When he was tested and showed no signs of power Hubert became very upset and became even more vexed when Javan went down to the water to see Revan. The other three were powerful Deryni, but Geoffrey and Iain were dead and Jesse for the most part in hiding.

He saw how Ansel was blocked and was delighted that it was something "simple" he could do as well, so he showed his mother, Evaine, how easy it was to make her "clear"; he defined clear as having no Deryni powers, hence he could see clearly into the blocked person's mind.

Evaine had no real choice, she could either leave Camber in limbo or free him and die, but the power needed was enormous. It was, however, a choice she was willing to make. Queron saw her pass between the pillars and join her beloved Rhys and their son; it was the last thing he saw for three days.
