Hadrian was Roman Emperor from 117 to 138. He travelled a lot throughout the Roman empire, spending more than half of his time as Emperor outside of Italy. Under his rule, a defensive seventy-three mile long wall was built across Britain from Wallsend to Bowness-On-Solway. The wall is known as Hadrian's Wall and is a major tourist attraction.
2. Edmund Halley
Answer: Astronomer
Edmund Halley was an Englishman who lived from 1656 to 1742. He was an astronomer as well as a physicist and mathematician. His work in astronomy was investigating orbits and distances between planets and he catalogued the southern sky. In 1705, he worked out the timing of Halley's Comet, which was named after him when it returned in 1758.
3. Alexander Hamilton

Alexander Hamilton was born in the Caribbean in either 1755 or 1757 and moved to the United States when he was a teenager. He went on to become the person who founded the financial system of the United States and was a founding father. He was also a lawyer, congressman, military commander and a banker. He died in 1804 after being shot in a duel with Vice-President Aaron Burr.
4. Joseph Haydn

Joseph Haydn was an Austrian composer who lived from 1732 to 1809. At a very early age he was musically gifted and at the age of six he left his parents' home to study music with a relative. One of his most famous pieces of work is "The Seasons" which is broken down into four parts - Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. The work is created for a large orchestra with vocals.
5. Warren G. Harding

Warren G. Harding was the twenty-ninth American President, serving as President from 1921 to 1923. He started out working in the newspaper industry, was a senator and lieutenant governor. He ran for President against James M. Cox and won by a large margin. He died unexpectedly while in office, which came as a big shock to the nation.

Thomas Hardy was an English writer and poet who lived from 1840 to 1928. His most famous works are "Far From the Madding Crowd", "The Mayor of Casterbridge" and "Tess of the d'Urbervilles". The themes of his novels included speaking out against Victorian society and the move away from rural living. He also wrote poems, short stories and plays.
7. Henry VIII

Henry VIII was King of England from 1509 until 1547. He put a lot of money into the building of the English navy and was called "the father of the Royal Navy." He made changes to the Constitution and expanded royal power. But he is probably best known for being married six times, and for the fate of his wives.
His second wife, poor Anne Boleyn was beheaded. He also had his fifth wife, Catherine Howard executed. He had a jousting accident that caused a lot of medical problems for him and ended up contributing to his death at the age of fifty-five.
8. Adolf Hitler

One of the most infamous figures in history, Adolf Hitler was dictator of Germany from 1933 to 1945. When he took control of Germany in 1933 he went after all opposition parties and took over the military, giving him total control. Under his rule, Germany invaded Poland, which started World War II.
He also was the key figure behind the Holocaust. He was responsible for the genocide of approximately six million Jewish people.
9. Harry Houdini

Harry Houdini is one of the most famous escape artists and illusionists in history. He was born in Budapest in 1874 and moved to the United States when he was four years old. He was born Erik Weisz and started calling himself Harry Houdini when he became a professional magician.
He is famous for escaping from seemingly impossible situations, like being handcuffed and being placed into locked containers filled with water. He influenced many other people to try the same tricks.
10. Henry Hudson
Answer: Explorer
Henry Hudson was born in England around the year 1565 and became an explorer. He is best known for his travels to Canada and Northeastern United States and has a Bay in northern Canada named after him. In 1609 he landed and explored an area that we now call New York City.
In 1610 he explored the area known today as Hudson Bay. He wanted to keep going West but his crew had had enough. They placed him, his son and several other men in a small boat in Hudson Bay and left them. What happened to them remains a mystery.
