8. The westernmost and easternmost point of the 50 States are both in the same state.

Answer: True

How can that be? Well, the westernmost point is Amatignak Island, Alaska. But the Aleutian Islands (part of Alaska) extend beyond the 180th meridian so technically, Semisopochnoi Island is in the eastern hemisphere, making it the easternmost point of the 50 states. That also means that the westernmost and easternmost points are only a few miles apart.
9. Put the following cities in order from east to west: Los Angeles, Reno, Sacramento, San Diego.

Answer: San Diego, Los Angeles, Reno, Sacramento

It may not look that way on a flat map, but looking on a globe or measuring by longitude, that is the correct order.
10. Put the following cities in order from north to south: Denver, Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, San Francisco.

Answer: Salt Lake City, Philadelphia, Denver, San Francisco

All but San Francisco are near the 40th parallel.
