After the attack at the museum by dinosaurs (well, the bones of the dinosaurs,) Mrs Deverill knocks Matt out and takes him back to Hive Hall, where he eventually wakes up at seven in the morning.

Matt escapes from Hive Hall by laying a trap for Noah, and then running out into the road. While he's running along the road, Sir Michael Marsh picks him up, and Matt, not knowing his true alliegance, gets in with him. By the time Matt realises that he's made a mistake, it's too late.

In the book, Mrs Deverill is desdribed as wearing the same clothes as the ones she wore to London to pick Matt up, together with a lizard brooch.
