They circulated in Lundy island, which is off the Bristol coast and were an unofficial issues of two bronze coins in 1929. They were so named because they had a puffin depicted on the reverse side.
They were named Puffin coins since the name of Lundy Island derives from the Old Norse language in which lundi means puffin. The depiction of a puffin on the coins relates to the meaning of Lundy.
