Nectanebo II reigned from 358 to 340 BCE. He was ancient Egypt's last native ruler.

Nectanebo II was also the third and final pharaoh of the Thirtieth Dynasty.

By all accounts, Nectanebo II was a good pharaoh and Egypt prospered under his rule. He worked to keep Egypt free of the Achaemenid Empire, but betrayal saw the Persians take over Memphis and then the rest of Egypt under Artaxerxes III.
