The youngest person to become President was Theodore Roosevelt, who came into office following the assassination of William McKinley, at the age of 42 years, 322 days when he was inaugurated. The youngest person to be elected President was John Fitzgerald Kennedy, who was 43 years, 236 days at inauguration.
