I am looking for the name of the comedian that did a mock magician routine. He would do nonsense 'tricks' and acompany himself vocally chanting 'da da da da ' ?

The guy I'm looking for was stocky. He had dark curly hair; I'd swear he was Italian American. His magic 'tricks' including pushing a handkerchief into the top of his closed fist and pulling it out the bottom of that fist while singing da da da da and acting like he was really pulling off something tremendous.

At a Christmas party, Metrano began cutting up with an improv bit in which he pretended to be a sleight-of-hand {artist;} the routine consisted of his humming the song 'Fine and Dandy' as he'd proceed to pull invisible handkerchiefs out of his pocket and extricate himself from non-existent handcuffs. This 'do-nothing magician' act led to several guest spots on The Tonight Show, Laugh-In and The Dean Martin Show, and a regular stint on 1970's The Tim Conway Hour (the theme song of which was, inevitably, 'Fine and Dandy'). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-SNrvHdZJE
