Answer: Winifred Sanderson

Young Winifred Sanderson stomped through the town of Salem and arrived at her home. Her sisters, Sarah and Mary, were waiting for her with a birthday banner. It was her 16th birthday, but Winifred did not show appreciation. She was having a bad day! Young Winifred explained to her sisters that she had spoken horribly and refused to marry John Pritchett.

Rebecca Sanderson is not a character in the film.

The name of the town is mentioned in several times, including by the townspeople of Salem; it is also mentioned at the Halloween party at the town hall. Also another way to remember where "Hocus Pocus" took place is to remember the Salem Witch Trials.

"Halloweentown High" is a different Disney movie entirely. John Adams High is the school Cory, Topanga, and Shawn went to in the ever popular "Boy Meets World" series. Last, but not least, Park Hill High is my school! The name of the school is shown at the very beginning of the movie, after class is dismissed. Not much is known about the school except that it tells legends about the Sanderson sisters on Halloween and has a full sized kiln, which is used later in the movie to knockout the sisters for a short time.

Winifred was one of the Sanderson sisters and she was the smartest one. She was the one trying to conjure the spell to suck the lives out of the children of Salem. She said this line to her other two sisters, in the beginning of the movie, because she was called a hag by Thackery (Binx.)

After the enchanted hourglass was used, Gilbert was bound to help. His life depended on his finding the items for the spell. The witches were to get the blood of the enemy from Mayor Trask. Gilbert was to gather the other items.

Straight away, he went to the cemetery to dig up William "Billy" Butcherson. He told Billy he wanted to kill Winifred for good! He enlisted Billy's help to gather the other items and swore he would tell the entire community the truth that Billy did not love Winifred. It was but one kiss in 1653. His plan was to trick Billy into gathering the items and then he would take his head.

Answer: Reverend Traske

In the opening sequences, the setting was Salem 1653. Winifred and her sisters lived alone. Reverend Traske ordered Winifred to marry John Pritchett and she refused. She wanted to marry Billy, whom she shared a kiss with in the graveyard. John was thrilled because she was "so ugly and unpleasant". She said John was a "lout". The Reverend banished her from Salem and tried to remove Mary and Sarah from their home to "turn them right". Chaos ensued and the three sisters escaped to the forest.

As far as anyone can tell, eye of newt isn't an ingredient in the potion. The other two, while real ingredients, come before the tongue bit. The purpose of the potion is to make known the presence of a person's life force, which can then, being revealed, be bottled, inhaled, or otherwise removed. Thackery Binx's little sister, Emily, was killed when the life was sucked out of her by the Sanderson sisters, at the beginning of the movie.

In the beggining of the movie Thackery was turned into a black cat with eternal life. When Thackery woke up he realized that his sister was not there. He then went outside and saw her running towards the Sanderson house. Upon looking in the window he saw that the witches were going to kill his sister, and he climbed into the top portion of the house. When the witches realized that he was in the house they got angry and turned him into a cat. Winifred said that he would have to live forever with his guilt of having not been able to save his sister.

Max was the main hero for the movie; he also was the airhead virgin who brought the Sandersons back to life. (This one is not to be confused with Winifred's line, "It's just a bunch of hocus pocus!")
He said this because he was skeptical about the rumors that lighting the Black Flame Candle would bring back the Sandersons. Max said this soon after he, Dani and Allison broke into the Sanderson house.

When they saw one man holding two men's heads underwater as they tried bobbing for apples, the sisters became giddy. They found it funny and said they liked the festival! When the sisters saw the winner with an apple in his mouth, Winifred thought maybe they were going to "roast him on a spit".

Mother Witch recognized Winifred's temper and knew her to have "power". She gave Winifred the spell "Book" for her 16th birthday. Mother Witch warned her to never cast the spell "Magicae Maxima". She also explained witches stay young and beautful by eating children. The sisters leave the forest with Book, and cast a spell on Salem, burning homes.

Sarah can be found be found in purple attire that is revealing, to attract people, such as the guy driving the bus. She also changes into a purple dust, which is also at the end of the film.

Thackery was turned into a black cat by the Sanderson sisters. After attacking them and ruining their potion, they cursed him to live forever with the guilt of not being able to save his sister from them. He is, for all intent purposes, immortal.

The movie was set in Salem Massachusetts; this was mentioned a few times. Salem is an appropriate setting for the movie because this is where the Salem witch trials originally took place in 1692. During these trials 20 people were executed on the accusation of being witches, and 150 more were thrown in prison.

Allison was the girl of Max's dreams. She was also the reason why Max went into the Sanderson's house. She said this to the other two (Max and Dani). She also said this to Dani just to creep her out.

Kathy Najimy starred in 'Rat Race', 'If These Walls Could Talk II', 'The Wedding Planner' and 'Sister Act', parts one and two.

First, they lit Angelica leaves and then they recited "lift the curse and let us out". The stairs rolled down for them to climb to the door and walk out. They wanted to get to Cassie's before the witches so they could warn the sisters were coming for her dad.

Becca rode her bicycle to school. With her friends, Cassie and Izzy, they discussed the usual birthday rituals that were set for that night. It was Becca's 16th birthday and Halloween. Cassie was having a party and would not be participating in the rituals with the other girls.
