Answer: Terry Jones

Terry Jones co-directed "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" with fellow group member Terry Gilliam. He later went on to direct the successful "Wind in the Willows" which stared many former "Monty Python" members.

It is one of his many roles in the film. Others include
the prophet that Brian lands on when hiding in the PFJ headquaters and the man in charge of sending people to be crucified.

A girl in the crowd proclaims the above statement, to which Brian replies, "Well what sort of chance does that give me! All right, I am the messiah!" The crowd responds, "HE IS THE MESSIAH!"

It is quite hard to hear, so those who have watched the film with subtitles may have an advantage. (This is said by Brian.)

Initially, Brian writes "Romanes Eunt Domus" which (according to the centurion) translates as "People called Rome, they go the house." While my knuckles still have scars from being struck with Sister Gabriella's ruler, at least she (my high school Latin teacher) never put a sword to my throat.

A Roman guard says this to Matthias when he says that being stabbed is a worse fate than crucifixion.

Although they did bring the peace. Which was jolly nice of them.

Michael Palin (Pilate) is the youngest member of the group and is well known for his great ability to make voice gags and use different voices. As well as comedy Michael's interests include travel and history. He has since made many travel programs.

Pontius Pilate is responding to the centurion's (Cleese) telling Pilate (Palin) that 'Bigus Dickus' is a joke name. Pilate replies, "I have a very great friend in Rome called 'Bigus Dickus'". The centurions are not able to control their laughter, and the outburst above follows.

One of the funniest scenes in the film. (This is said when Brian is brought before Pontius Pilate after being caught in the palace.)

'Not a single, recognisable, articulate sound has passed my lips.'

Answer: Jesus cured him

The ex-leper (Michael Palin) laments his condition by responding thusly to Brian's query regarding who cured his leprosy, 'Jesus did, sir. I was hopping along, minding my own business. All of a sudden, up he comes. Cures me. One minute I'm a leper with a trade, next minute my livelihood's gone. Not so much as a by your leave. 'You're cured mate.' Bloody do-gooder.'

Of course, the ex-leper doesn't want to become a leper again, a simple limp will do nicely.

This is said during the 'big nose' argument. One of my favourite scenes in the movie!

Brian's mother again going into a little more detail as to Brian's origins - a centurion apparently named 'Naughtius Maximus'.

Very funny scene, but I do feel sorry for those with speech impediments watching it. (This is said when Pontius Pilate is giving his Passover speech.)

The Campaign for Free Galilee, complete with uniforms and their own official salute, has been planning this raid for months. The struggle between the two groups, of course, dooms the entire endeavor to failure.

Of course, she really is a man, but is that so horrible? In all seriousness (and I must be serious for this quiz), Brian's last name is not really Cohen. His father was a Roman named Nortius Maximus who promised Brian's mum, among other things, slaves, asses' milk and as much gold as she could eat. Brian rejects his heritage, claiming himself proudly to be 'kosher' and a 'Red Sea pedestrian', among other things.
