Neal has to walk down a highway and across a runway to get back to the rental agency where another hilarious scene takes place. The car rental agent was played by Edie McClurg who also appeared as the school secretary in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off".

Matthew Lawrence played Neal's son, seen at the end of the movie. This may seem like an obscure question, but if you are familiar with the Lawrence brothers, you know that they all look a lot alike. Owen arrives to the Braidwood Inn to pick up Del and Neal and give them a ride to Stubbville. When they go to load Del's trunk in the truck, Owen tells them to "leave it be". He then tells his wife to get her "lazy behind out here and put that trunk up in the back". Del and Neal insist that they can do it. "She don't mind. She's short and skinny, but she's strong. Her first baby come out sideways. She didn't scream or nothin'," says Owen. Del says, "Isn't that something. You're a real trooper. We've got it! We've got it already! It's done!"
