Neal races a man for a cab and loses. He then pays an attorney 75 dollars for the cab he has hailed but Del rides off in it. Neal makes it to the airport by taking a bus which he can be seen stepping out of.

When the scorched rental car is impounded, Del manages to get he and Neal a lift on an Oshkonoggin delivery truck. But the driver is not comfortable with people riding in the cab of his truck so Del and Neal have to ride in the back with the cargo. They are pressed between Oshkonoggin products as they sit freezing on Del's trunk.

Neal is on a train heading for home when he puts the pieces together and realizes Del does not have a family to go home to. Neal returns to the train station for Del and the two of them go to Neal's house for Thanksgiving dinner with the Page family.
