Answer: A nun
In a similar fashion to the movie "Psycho" the new story began with a young woman, Maureen Coyle (Diana Scarwid), who was at a convent to train to be a nun. She decided she was too sinful to be a nun, so she stood on a ledge of a tall building at the convent and told everyone she was about to jump. Some nuns went up there to talk her out of it, because suicide was a sin. Maureen accidentally knocked another nun off the ledge to her death. Maureen left the convent.

Marion is a bank secretary who is looking for a better life. Sam owns a hardware store in the neighboring state of California and is working hard to pay off debts. Janet Leigh, who plays Marion, has also appeared in "Houdini" with her real life husband Tony Curtis. The rugged, handsome, John Gavin who plays Sam, has also appeared in "Midnight Lace" the same year as "Psycho" with Doris Day and was just as romantically charming in it.

Patricia Hitchcock, billed in Psycho as Pat Hitchcock, although she was married, and by that time was Patricia O'Connell, was in two other Hitchcock films, "Stage Fright" and "Strangers on a Train". Her role in the second film was a large role, and many critics feel she stole the show from the lead actors. She was also in several episodes of Hitchcock's TV series, "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", several television movies in the 1970s, and one non-Hitchcock film, "The Mudlark", in 1950, where she was uncredited. "The Mudlark" was a film about Queen Victoria, with the unusual casting of Irene Dunne as Victoria. Her appearance in Psycho is brief-- a single scene, and a small voice-over part, but she almost steals this scene as well.

From Quiz: "We All Go A Little Mad Sometimes"
Answer: We all go a little mad sometimes.
The famous line "We all go a little mad sometimes" was spoken by Norman Bates, played by Anthony Perkins, in the psychological thriller film "Psycho." The line is delivered during a conversation between Norman and Marion Crane, played by Janet Leigh. Norman is expressing empathy towards Marion after she reveals feeling overwhelmed and needing a break from reality. The line became iconic in the film and has been referenced and parodied in various forms of media. It captures the unsettling nature of the film as it explores the themes of mental illness and the blurred lines between reality and illusion. Hitchcock's use of this line not only emphasized Norman's character arc but also represented much more about the human condition as a whole.

Answer: A scrap of paper with something subtracted from $40,000
$40,000 was the amount of money Marion stole, and the cost of a large house in an upscale neighborhood in 1960. Even then, when people bought cars, and most other things outright that it is now common to buy on time, it was highly unusual to buy a house without a mortgage. Lila found a scrap of paper on which Marion had been calculating what it would take to repay the money she had spent of the $40,000 she had stolen, as she has decided to go back to Arizona, and not go on to see Sam.
Zip codes did not exist in 1960. They were introduced nationwide in 1963.

Answer: 12
The Bates Motel, made famous by the movie 'Psycho', has a total of 12 rooms. This includes 6 rooms on the ground floor, 4 rooms on the second floor, and 2 rooms in the house where Norman Bates lives with his mother. Interestingly, the film crew only built the exterior of the Bates Motel, and all scenes taking place inside the motel rooms were filmed on sets at Universal Studios. Despite this, the Bates Motel and its 12 rooms have become part of cinematic history and continue to be a popular topic among movie buffs and horror fans alike.

When he didn't fall for that, Mary went upstairs and got on the phone extension, but Dr. Raymond (Robert Loggia), the psychiatrist, grabbed her. Thinking someone was trying to kill her, and holding a knife as part of Norman's mother's costume, she turned around and stabbed Dr. Raymond to death. He found out the hard way why most doctors don't make house calls.

Answer: Green Lawn
When the sheriff asks "Who's that buried in Green Lawn cemetery?" in place of Mrs. Bates, it opens an interesting subplot, but it is never explored. Large cuts were made to the script before filming began, so screenwriter Joseph Stefano may have intended to let us know how Norman managed to steal his mother's body and somehow weight down the coffin, and with what; all the resolution we ever get to this very curious mystery, which is underscored by a close-in shot of the sheriff's face, and a musical decrescendo, is a passing comment at the end by the psychiatrist that "a weighted coffin was buried".

From Quiz: What You Missed in Hitchcock's "Psycho"
Answer: Taxidermy
Norman Bates, the main character in Alfred Hitchcock's 'Psycho', has a unique hobby - taxidermy. This involves preserving animal remains after death, and arranging them in lifelike poses. Norman's interest in taxidermy reflects his psychological state, as he struggles to maintain a grip on reality after his mother's death. His practice of taxidermy hints at his desire to preserve his mother's memory and maintain a connection to her. Norman is shown stuffing numerous birds during the movie, and his home is filled with a variety of taxidermied animals. The predominantly avian focus of Norman's taxidermy mirrors the bird imagery throughout the film, particularly the stuffed owl that watches over Marion Crane's murder. Norman's hobby adds to the unsettling and creepy atmosphere of the movie, and contributes to the character's complex portrayal.
