Right after Darth Vader and his men arrived at Hoth, Han Solo, Princess Leia and C-3P0 were seen heading towards the Millennium Falcon. All three of them got into the bay where the ship was and Chewie yelled at them to hurry. Han turned back around and told C-3PO to hurry up and he referred to him as "goldenrod".

After Han Solo was frozen in carbonite, Lando was seen taking C-3PO, Chewbacca and Princess Leia to his ship with several stormtroopers surrounding him. It was at this point that Lando took the men's guns and shooed them off. He then told Leia and the others they were getting out of there. When he removed the cuffs from Chewbacca's hand, Chewbacca attacked Lando but Leia convinced him to put him down. C-3PO apologized to Lando over what Chewie did to him but reminded him that he was a wookie/wookiee.
