Mango had been grabbing people and taking them to Dracula's castle to feed Dracula and his wife. Eventually, Glen Cannon (Gene O'Shane) killed Dracula (Alex D'Arcy) and the butler (John Carradine) who had been burning people in sacrifice to Satan. However, Mango (Ray Young) grabbed another woman and was about to burn her when Glen attacked Mango and burned Mango instead.

Alex D'Arcy (Aug 10, 1908 - Apr 20, 1996) was born in Cairo, Egypt. He appeared in various TV shows and movies, including "The Awful Truth" and "How to Marry a Millionaire".

Peter Cushing played Van Helsing in "Brides of Dracula". However, there was no Dracula. Hammer Films did something similar to what Universal did with their Dracula movies: The second movie continued the story with Van Helsing fighting other vampires, but Dracula didn't return until the third movie.

A woman was invited to spend the night at an old woman's massive estate. She looked out the window and saw a man in chains in another part of the building. She went to his room and he told her that his mother, the old woman, was jealous of him and insane and had kept him there to keep him from inheriting the estate. The young woman found the key to the chains and gave them to the young man, who escaped. However, he was a vampire and turned many women into vampires, including his mother.

Criminals held a family hostage in their RV so they could get to Mexico to meet some criminals at a bar. While they waited, the sun went down, and the strippers attacked everyone, because they were vampires.

Juliette Lewis played the teenage girl in "From Dusk Till Dawn" (Katherine Fuller), "Cape Fear" (Danielle Bowden), and "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" (Audrey Griswold). She appeared on the TV series "I Married Dora" and continues to make appearances on TV shows, including "Secrets and Lies" as Detective Andrea Cornell.

A true classic series for the vampire lover, Anne Rice's "The Vampire Chronicles" reshaped vampire lore for a contemporary audience beginning with the 1970s book "Interview With a Vampire". The movie was filled with a star-heavy cast including Tom Cruise, Antonio Banderas, Kirsten Dunst, Brad Pitt, and Christian Slater. Although the film was framed by an interview, it also tracked the history of a group of aristocratic vampires in the United States.

The movie was considered a major box office success. Despite this, many of Anne Rice's works were not adapted soon after. The next one, "Queen of the Damned", was released in 2002 and starred Aaliyah in her final role; it was the third book in the chronicles leaving somewhat of a gap originally filled by "The Vampire Lestat". Lestat was originally portrayed by Tom Cruise.

A victorious Vlad the Impaler returned from battling the Turks, only to find his beloved Elisabeta dead. He called down the curse of the Undead upon his head with his ravings against heaven. Four hundred years later, and with the help of Jonathan Harker, Dracula was leaving Transylvania for England. Dracula spied a photograph of Harker's fiancee, Mina Murray, the living image of his long-dead love. Dracula left Harker with his three Undead brides, and set off in search of Mina. All four of the ladies given had played Mina in film retellings of the Dracula story. Winona Ryder played Mina in this 1992 version. Helen Chandler played Mina in "Dracula" (1931), Melissa Stribing played Mina in Hammer's "Dracula" (1958), and Jan Francis played Mina in "Dracula" (1979). The cast of "Bram Stoker's Dracula" also included Keanu Reeves as Jonathan Harker, Richard E. Grant as Dr. Jack Seward, Sadie Frost as Lucy, and Tom Waits as Renfield.

Lee was persuaded to return to the role of "Dracula" in 1965, but allegedly he was so displeased with the dialogue he was given that he ended up only making non-verbal sounds, such as growling. "Dracula" is disposed of this time by being submerged in icy water.

Von Helsing was arrested at the beginning of "Dracula's Daughter" for killing Dracula and various vampires, because the police didn't believe in vampires. Countess Marya Zaleska (Gloria Holden) managed to take Dracula's body away from police headquarters and set fire to it, hoping it would cure her of being a vampire, but that didn't work. She later talked Dr. Jeffrey Garth into helping her quit her vampire ways, but she ended up seducing his girlfriend.

Stephanie Beacham acted in movies ("Schizo") and television ("Colbys", "Sister Kate"). She also played as Jessica Van Helsing in "Dracula A.D. 1972", which began with Van Helsing (Peter Cushing) killing Dracula (Christopher Lee) in the 1800s. The movie jumped to 1972 when a man who called himself Alucard wanted to become a vampire. He performed a satanic ritual with his friends, including Jessica Van Helsing, Dr. Van Helsing's granddaughter. This brought Dracula back to life.

Martin was a teenager who claimed he was really an old man who just remained young because he was a vampire, or was it all a fantasy? He lived with his old uncle, who told him that if Martin acted like a vampire or killed anyone, he would drive a stake through Martin's heart.

George Romero is most famous for directing zombie movies, including "Night of the Living Dead" and "Dawn of the Dead". He's also directed other movies, including "Knightriders", "Creepshow", and "Monkey Shines".

Lionel Atwill played as Inspector Holtz. The villagers demanded he arrest Larry Talbot (Lon Chaney Jr) or Dr. Edelmann (Onslow Stevens) for a recent murder. Holtz said he needed more evidence. Holtz had previously seen Larry become the wolf man, but Dr. Edelmann told Holtz that Larry had been cured. However, before Dracula (John Carradine) was destroyed, Dracula had put some of his blood into Dr. Edelmann, which gave the doctor a split personality.

Answer: From Dusk Till Dawn

Featuring an ensemble cast typical of a Robert Rodriguez flick, "From Dusk Till Dawn" was straight-up and shoot-'em-up in its approach to the vampire genre. When the Gecko Brothers and their hostages arrived at the Mexican nightclub (known as Titty Twister) in the middle of nowhere, they dove headfirst into a battle between humans and vampires unlike many others. The movie also featured Salma Hayek, Harvey Keitel, Juliette Lewis, Cheech Marin, and Danny Trejo (as is normal for a Rodriguez movie, like I said).

"From Dusk Till Dawn" was followed by two DVD sequels: "Texas Blood Money" and "The Hangman's Daughter". None of the original cast returned except Trejo.

Answer: Let the Right One In

The great T.S. Eliot once said: "Immature poets imitate; mature poets steal". His maxim applies well to this 2008 film by director Tomas Alfredson. Rather than merely aping the conventions of great films of this past, this production appropriates major plot elements wholesale - the confusion of youth from "My Life as a Dog", the Renfield elements from "Dracula", the androgyny of the Anne Rice series - and transforms them into something remarkably new and creative. "Let the Right One In" stars Kåre Hedebrant as Oskar, a bullied pre-teen boy who fantasizes about killing his tormenters. One night, he meets the mysterious Eli (Lina Leandersson), who grows to be a friend and confidante. The ensuing formula - Oskar learns to stand up for himself with the encouragement of his new friend - may sound trite and familiar. Given the subject matter of this quiz and the themes mentioned above, I assure you there is nothing trite about its execution.

Thieves broke into Van Helsing's vault believing it was full of rare paintings, but they let loose Dracula, King of the Undead, instead. Dracula set off for New Orleans to avenge himself on his old enemy by turning Van Helsing's daughter, Mary, into a vampire, in "Dracula 2000". Dracula was played by Gerard Butler, Christopher Plummer was Van Helsing, Justine Waddell was Mary, and Colleen Fitzpatrick (pop singer Vitamin C) was Lucy Westerman.

Also starring Gary Oldman and Winona Ryder, this brought the "Dracula" story into the 90s. Not one of my favourites.

There was no Dr. Van Helsing in "House of Dracula". There was Dr. Edelmann (Onslow Stevens) who used blood transfusions to try to cure Dracula (John Carradine). He used plant mold to cure the wolf man (Lon Chaney Jr). He also found Frankenstein's monster (Glenn Strange). This is one of the few classic monster movies with only one doctor. All he had was two nurses to help him handle three movie monsters.

Joanna Lumley played as Jessica Van Helsing in "The Satanic Rites of Dracula" (aka "Count Dracula and His Vampire Bride"). People were doing tricks with vampires to convince high ranking British officials of their power. Eventually, Van Helsing was consulted and discovered that a wealthy business man behind the plan of stealing and letting loose bubonic plague was really Dracula, who seemingly wanted to commit suicide by destroying mankind. Dracula captured Van Helsing's granddaughter (this time played by Joanna Lumley of "Absolutely Fabulous", "Curse of the Pink Panther", and "Ella Enchanted") to make her his bride as revenge against Van Helsing's interference.

In the movie "Vamp", A.J. visited Queen Katrina (Grace Jones) to hire her to strip at a party, but she killed him with a bite, because she was a vampire. His friend tried to find out what happened, but got attacked by various vampires and violent people all night.

Grace Jones was a singer ("Demolition Man") and an actress ("A View to a Kill" and "Conan the Destroyer").

Answer: Mel Brooks

In the Mel Brooks version of the Dracula story, "Dracula Dead and Loving It", Mel Brooks played as Dr. Van Helsing who helped people fight Dracula (Leslie Nielsen) when Dracula caused trouble for the British characters played by American actors. Of course, Mel Brooks is famous for directing "Young Frankenstein", "Blazing Saddles", "Spaceballs", "Life Stinks", and "The Producers".

Gabriel Van Helsing set off for Transylvania with Carl, his monk sidekick, to help the last of the Valerious family battle Dracula. They found that Dracula had hatched a plot, with the help of Igor, Dr. Frankenstein's lab assistant, to use electricity, and the Frankenstein Monster, to give life to thousands of his dead offsping. Stakes would not kill the king of the Undead, but could Van Helsing discover what would kill him, and prevent the world from turning into a preying ground in "Van Helsing"? Hugh Jackman was Van Helsing, David Wenham was Carl, Kate Beckinsale was Anna Valerious, Kevin J. O'Connor was Igor, Shuler Hensey was Frankenstein's Monster, and Richard Roxburgh was Dracula. Fans of Roxburgh will remember him from "Mission Impossible II" (2000), "Moulin Rouge!" (2001), and "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" (2003).
