Answer: good news and freedom
"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners." (Isaiah 61:1, NIV)
As one of God's prophets, Isaiah knew the importance of proclaiming God's word to the people. Many times Isaiah also saw the effects of people not understanding or disobeying God's word. However God gave a message of hope to Isaiah and the Jews, that the Messiah would come and set His people free! He would be more than just a great king or leader with physical strengths and an earthly kingdom. He would be able to mend and heal people spiritually and have an eternal reign.

Answer: an unbelieving king
Isaiah originally gave the prophecy of a virgin giving birth to a son, to an unbelieving king. During a time when the kingdom was in turmoil and facing an attack by enemy armies, God offered to give King Ahaz a sign to show He would help him. Although God told King Ahaz to ask for anything, the king refused, claiming he would not test God. Isaiah was angry.
Then Isaiah said, "Hear now, you house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience of my God also? Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel." (Isaiah 9:13-14, NIV)
Isaiah told King Ahaz that before the child knew good and evil, the enemies he was afraid of would be laid to waste.
Later Isaiah penned the words, "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)

Answer: a remnant will return
Like his own name, which symbolized his message of salvation, Isaiah's two son's names represented a part of his prophetic message as well. Shear-Jashub means "a remnant will return" and Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz means "quick to the plunder, swift to the spoil." In the NIV Bible in Isaiah chapters 7 and 8.

Answer: Jesse
Jesse was the father of David. The Messiah was promised to come from the house of David and by default of Jesse as well. Judah would later be destroyed and taken into exile. The dynasty was then effectively cut off from the throne. In verse 10 of the same chapter, it stated, "...the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples". Again, another possible prophetic message of the Messiah being open to all nations.

Answer: leap
Isaiah 35:6 "Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert."
I wasn't sure myself what "an hart" was so I looked it up on dictionary.com. An hart is a male deer, especially the red deer.

Answer: Shear-Jashub, "a remnant shall return"
Although God promised to bring judgment and captivity to the nation, God left many prophecies where He would return to His people and restore them. Isaiah named his first son, Shear-Jashub, which meant "a remnant shall return". The boy was a witness to others that God would preserve His people.
In Isaiah 8, God told Isaiah to name his second son, Mahershalalhashbaz, which meant "Hurry to the spoils!". God promised that before the boy knew right or wrong, he would destroy the riches of the king of Assyria, an enemy of the Israelites.

Answer: strength
In Isaiah 30:15, God laments that His children have been rebellious. "This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: 'In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it. You said, 'No, we will flee on horses.' Therefore you will flee! You said, 'We will ride off on swift horses.' Therefore your pursuers will be swift!'"
