Answer: Alphaeus
It says in Mark 2:14, "And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him."
For those of you who picked Jacob, he is the father of a different Levi than 2:14 refers to. This Levi is also known as Matthew.

Answer: The crucifixion of Jesus
The centurion made the statement in Mark 15:39, just after the death of Jesus at Calvary.
To put the verse in context, here's how Mark 15:37-39 reads in the NKJV: "And Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and breathed His last. Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. So when the centurion, who stood opposite Him, saw that He cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, 'Truly this Man was the Son of God!'"
Sometimes when I read about the centurion's statement, I am reminded of Hollywood actor John Wayne who was featured in the 1965 movie 'The Greatest Story Ever Told'. Just after Christ's death, Wayne, dressed like a noble Roman centurion, makes the proclamation 'Truly this Man was the Son of God' in his cowboy drawl.

Answer: His hometown
"Jesus said to them, 'Only in his hometown, among his relatives and in his own house, is a prophet without honor.' He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. And he was amazed at their lack of faith." (Mark 6:4-6)
Jesus had grown up in Nazareth but when he returned to his hometown and preached in the local synagogue, rather than receiving him as a prophet and a teacher, the people were offended.
The text also names four of his brothers and mentions he had sisters. It doesn't mention Joseph, his earthly father, maybe because he had died. Two of his brothers, James and Judas (Jude), later became leaders in the church and they wrote the epistles of James and Jude.
