The others were all punters. Reed was a Baltimore Raven and took the title with eight picks, and amazingly missed six games in the season. It was the third time that Reed led the league in interceptions. In nine seasons he accumulated 54. Devin McCourty of the Patriots, Troy Polamalu of the Steelers, and the Eagles' Asante Samuel were all runner-ups and had seven picks in 2010.

Answer: A death of a woman he knew

Collins was almost universally seen as a first round pick, with some placing him in the top 10 of their mock drafts. Collins began to drop however when it was revealed that he was due to speak to Louisiana State police days after the draft after the shooting death of a pregnant woman with whom he had previously had a relationship. Collins was never a suspect in the crime, but it didn't stop him from going undrafted.

He was picked up by the Dallas Cowboys, and since 2016 he has helped to establish the Cowboys as one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. He has been a success at both left guard and right tackle for the Cowboys.

Answer: Brady's destruction of his cellphone just before meeting with the investigators

Since the punishment for deflating footballs was looking more and more dubious as time went on, Goodell stressed Brady's lack of cooperation with the investigation as an important reason for the suspension. No "smoking gun" was ever discovered implicating Brady in the deflation events.

Answer: DeSean Jackson

DeSean Jackson was starting his second season with the Washington Redskins in 2015 and his injury came while stretching out for a long pass that landed beyond his reach. Jackson played the first six seasons of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles during which he was a three-time Pro Bowler and considered one of the league's most dangerous deep threats and punt returners. The Redskins ended up losing their 2015 week one match-up to the Dolphins 17-10.

The others did not reach the 4000-yard mark. Rivers threw 4710 yards for the Chargers. Peyton Manning of the Colts was the other quarterback with 4700 yards. In 2009, only one quarterback threw for more than 4500 yards. It was Matt Schaub of the Texans with 4770 yards from the air.

On 21 October 2018, the Rams faced the San Francisco 49ers. In a 39-10 win for the Rams, Littleton blocked Pinion's punt from the end zone, with the ball going out of the end zone and earning the Rams a safety. (It would have been a touchdown if the Rams had managed to get control of the ball while it was still in the end zone).

Littleton also greatly impressed during the Rams' 2018 postseason run. In the team's three playoff games against the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots, Littleton recorded a total of 29 tackles, also intercepting Tom Brady in Super Bowl LIII.

In a blatant example of forum-shopping, the Players Association filed a 54-page petition in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, solely because it was that court which had struck down the NFL's punishment in the Adrian Peterson case. However, the NFL had filed its own petition in New York the day before, and the Minnesota judge wisely ordered that the case be consolidated in the New York court.

The Eagles and Giants finished with the same record (10-6) but the Eagles won the tie breaker (they had beaten the Giants 38-31 head-to-head during the season).

The Steelers defensive improved dramatically compared to 2009 when the allowed 324 points scored. In 2010, the led the league by allowing only 232. The Packers defensive finished a close second with 240. The Ravens, Bears, and Falcons rounded out the top five, and were the only other teams to hold their opponents to below 300 points.

The "law of the shop" refers to the proposition that the "past principles and practice of the industry and the shop" should be adhered to, even if not specifically spelled out in the collective bargaining agreement between the employer and the union. The law of the shop regarding the NFL cases is that a player deserves to be advised in advance of what conduct is punishable by the league, and what the punishment could be for that conduct. This principle was used by the courts to void the suspensions given to Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson under the league's new domestic violence policy, a policy which was not in effect at the time those cases arose, and which commissioner Goodell attempted to apply retroactively to both Rice and Peterson, violating all semblance of fair play.

Aaron Rodgers threw a couple of picks in the game, including one to Richard Sherman in the Seattle end zone. The Packers' special teams unit fell for a fake field goal and let Seattle punter Jon Ryan throw a 19-yard touchdown pass to offensive tackle Garry Gilliam. To reiterate: the PUNTER threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to the OFFENSIVE TACKLE! After the bungled onside kick recovery later on, Marshawn Lynch ran for a 24-yard touchdown. After the two-point conversion, Seattle had a three-point lead. The Packers were able to tie it up to get it into OT, but the Seahawks won the coin toss, elected to receive, and marched down the field for the game-winning touchdown.

Arian Foster (Houston Texans) burst onto the scene in 2010 and rushed for 1616 yards, beating Jamaal Charles (Kansas City Chiefs) who rushed for 1467 yards.

The Seahawks, with their 7-9 record, ranked 31st of 32 teams for their dismal rushing offense. Marshawn Lynch led the team with 573 yards for the entire season.

The so-called "Spygate" controversy resulted in a $500,000 fine for coach Bill Bellichick, a $250,000 fine for the Patriots organization, and the loss of a first-round draft pick. The other choices are actions other teams have been guilty of: "bountygate" was the New Orleans Saints, piping in crowd noise was the Atlanta Falcons, and texting during a game was the Cleveland Browns.

Brandon McManus was possibly the MVP of the Broncos-Ravens match-up as both teams struggled offensively. McManus accounted for 13 of the Broncos' 19 points and he also had five touchbacks on his six kickoffs. Three other kickers, Josh Brown, Matt Bryant, and Zach Hocker also made four field goals in week one.

In the Patriots' Divisional Round game of 2013, Blount rushed for 166 yards and four touchdowns against the Colts. In the Colts-Patriots regular season game in 2014, it was Jonas Gray who ran wild. He went for 201 yards and four touchdowns, again against the Colts.

The others were on the wrong end of the stick, and lost six more games in 2010 compared to their 2009 season. The Buccaneers won a huge seven more games in 2010 with their 10-6 record. Both the Chiefs and Rams' front office are very happy with seeing their teams improve by six wins also.

Super Bowl XLIX was one of the best games of the season, and for good reason. Multiple previously unknown heroes emerged, including Chris Matthews coming from nowhere for a 109-yard, one touchdown game; however, the game was ended by another unknown player, Pats CB Malcolm Butler, who picked off Russell Wilson's final pass to seal the game for the Patriots. After the season, the game was voted on NFL.com's "bracketology" as the best game of all-time, as selected by the readers.

It was close but Roddy White (Atlanta Falcons) had 4 more receptions than Reggie Wayne (Indianapolis Colts) 115 and 111 respectively.

The Packers provided the season's first shutout in week 8 with their 9-0 win over the Jets. Week 11 saw two shutouts. The Bears put the Dolphins down 16-0, and the Buccaneers defeated the 49ers 21-0. Houston blanked Tennessee 20-0 in week 12, and the Chargers embarrassed the Chiefs 31-0 in week 14.

Answer: Eli Manning

The others all threw 15 picks in the season. Three quarterbacks threw 20+ interceptions in 2010. Manning of the Giants topped the list with 25, Drew Brees of the Saints threw 22, and Carson Palmer of the Bengals threw 20. Eli's 25 was a new career high for him, breaking his personal record of 20 in 2007. In 2010, Manning still hit the 4000-yard passing mark for the second time in his career.

The Raiders blasted the Denver Broncos in week 7, 59-14. Strangely enough, Raider quarterback Jason Campbell threw for only 204 yards with two touchdowns. Running back Darren McFadden rushed for 165 yards on 16 carries, an average of 10.3 yards per carry. He also scored three touchdowns. The 59-14 score was also the score at the end of the third quarter. The Raiders finished the season at 8-8.
