She worked for her father for eight years before she became an actress. During this time, she got a research credit when she helped him with his study on cluster headaches and left-handed people.
4. Before Peri Gilpin took over this role on "Frasier", Lisa Kudrow was hired for the part. What character was it?

Answer: Roz Doyle

James Burrows (director) decided Lisa did not fit the role and had her fired. Kelsey Grammar, who played the title role in the series, also said they could not get the role developed well enough. Peri Gilpin was recast in the role of Roz Doyle when it was decided she could give the part more depth.

Even Kudrow herself said, "I knew it wasn't working. I could feel it all slipping away, and I was panicking, which only made things worse."
5. What tragic news did Lisa Kudrow learn about her great-grandmother when she appeared in the series, "Who Do You Think You Are?"

Answer: She was killed in the Holocaust.

Lisa Kudrow has Belarusian, German, Hungarian, and Polish-Jewish ancestry. Some of her family, including her great-grandmother, were from Ilya, Belarus, where during the Holocaust almost all of the Jewish people were murdered. Her great-grandmother was among them. Kudrow's grandmother left Belarus and moved to Brooklyn, NY, USA, where Lisa's father was raised.

Kudrow was also the executive producer of the U.S. version of "Who Do You Think You Are?" This is why her family tree was traced in that first season of the series.
6. In 1990, Lisa Kudrow tried out for which variety show, but lost to Julia Sweeney?

Answer: Saturday Night Live

"Saturday Night Live" ("SNL") first premiered in 1975. Cast members come and go, and in the 1990s, Lisa tried out to be a cast member, but Julia Sweeney, best known for the "It's Pat" sketches, won out. According to Kudrow, she did not do her best at the audition, and Sweeney deserved to get the job. However, she has also stated it was a blessing she didn't get the part, as she got other great roles since then that she may not have gotten to do if she were on "SNL."

On October 5, 1996, Lisa Kudrow hosted the second episode of season 22 of "SNL."
7. Did Lisa Kudrow ever have any children?

Answer: Yes

On May 7, 1998, Lisa Kudrow gave birth to a son named Julian Murray with Michel Stern. Although he grew up on the set of "Friends," which ended when he was five, he was not a fan of the show when he was a little boy. However, when he got older he started to watch it because his friends liked it, and he told Lisa that it was really good.

Julien told his parents since he was little that he did not want brothers and sisters. She said that even as an adult now, he still thanks his parents for not having any other children. Lisa said, "It just worked out that way."

Like his mother, Julian is an actor and also works behind the scenes in cinematography. He has his bachelor's degree in cinematic arts from the University of Southern California.

They wrote her pregnancy into "Friends" by having Phoebe become a surrogate mother for her half-brother and his wife. Phoebe gave birth to triplets.
8. Ursula Buffay was played by Lisa Kudrow on what TV series before "Friends"?

Answer: Mad About You

"Mad About You" ran from 1992-1999. It starred Paul Reiser as Paul Buchman and Helen Hunt as his wife Jamie Buchman. The show was about their life together in New York City.

Ursula Buffay was a recurring character appearing in 24 episodes of the series. Ursula was a waitress at Riff's on the show. She was very absent-minded. Ursula was Phoebe's twin sister and also appeared on "Friends" with Kudrow playing both roles.

Ursula was incompetent at her job because she was clueless to the world around her. Unlike her sister, Ursula was not a pleasant person, and the sisters were not close. They were separated at a young age when their "adopted" mother died. For reasons not explained, Ursula was taken in by someone to care for her during her teen years, but Phoebe grew up on the streets. This led to Phoebe being jealous of her sister.
9. Lisa Kudrow helped raise money for UCLA WOW 2023 for research in what field?

Answer: mental health

WOW stands for Wisdom of Wellness. Not only did Lisa help raise money for the event, she was also the host. Oprah Winfrey was a special guest.

Kudrow stated that during "Friends" she suffered from body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). This is a disorder in which a person does not see their body as it really is, finding flaws that do not exist. When a flaw does exist, it's grossly magnified in the person's mind.

This was not her first time hosting the event. She has been involved with the organization since at least 2018.
10. In 1997, Kudrow co-starred in what movie about a high school reunion?

Answer: Romy and Michele's High School Reunion

Romy (played by Mira Sorvino) and Michele are friends who were teased horribly by the popular kids in high school. Ten years later they were going to their high school reunion, but found their lives are unimpressive, so they decided to lie and make themselves more impressive.

Lisa Kudrow was nominated for an MTV Movie Award along with Mira Sorvino and Alan Cumming for Best Dance Sequence. She was also nominated for a Golden Satellite Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical.
She did not win either of the awards. However, she has had many other roles since this and "Friends."
