Brad Pitt was born on December 18th, 1963 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, but the family moved to Springfield. Missouri. In 1982, he enrolled at enrolled in the University of Missouri, majoring in journalism. He did not, though, graduate, leaving a short time beforehand to move to Los Angeles and an acting life. What a shame.

Hugh Laurie was born in Oxfordshire in June 1959 and went to the University of Cambridge after attending Eton. He was a keen rower and took part in the 1980 Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race.
On British TV he played dimwit toffs in "Blackadder" and in "Jeeves and Wooster" In the US, he was the unconventional but brilliant Dr Gregory House in "House". He also recorded an album of blues songs.

Harvard was established in 1636 and was named after its benefactor, John Harvard, an English-born clergyman who died at Charlestown, Massachusetts at the age of 30. In his will he left £400 to Newtowne College, which had been formed two years before his death.

Jodie Foster was born in Los Angeles in 1962 and majored in literature at Yale. She starred in TV commercials from the age of three and was 14 when she played Tallulah in the 1976 movie "Bugsy Malone". (She also starred in "Taxi Driver" that same year).

In 1991 she starred as an FBI agent who fascinated, and was fascinated by, a serial killer in "The Silence of the Lambs". The role gave Foster he second Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
