4. "___ Lady" by Georgette Heyer

Georgette Heyer was a prolific writer and is regarded as having created the subgenre of Regency romances. To tag her historical fiction as merely 'romance novels' would however be a great disservice to her work. While most novels had a romantic storyline, they also included significant social commentary and her wit is often compared to P.G. Wodehouse.

"April Lady" was initially published in serial form in the Woman's Journal under the title "My Lady Cardross". Helen Irvine is married off to the much older Earl of Cardross to rescue her family from penury. The story then follows the couple as they seek to find love within this marriage of convenience.
5. "Maggie __" by Rod Stewart

"Maggie May" is a hit song by British singer Rod Stewart. Stewart co-wrote the song with Martin Quittenton and it was based on the former's personal experience. The song explores the relationship of a younger boy with an older woman. "Maggie May" hit the top spot on various charts across UK, USA, Canada, and Australia. In 2017, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

7. Born on the Fourth of ___

"Born on the Fourth of July" is an epic anti-war film. It was based on the autobiography of Ron Kovic, a United States Marine Corps sergeant who was deployed in Vietnam and became paralysed due to injuries sustained during the war. Directed by Oliver Stone, the film starred Tom Cruise in the titular role.

The screenplay was co-written by Oliver Stone and Ron Kovic. The film was a massive success at the box office and also earned critical acclaim.
8. "The First Day in ___" by Carole King

"The First Day in August" is a song by Carole King. She collaborated with Charles Larkey on the lyrics. Released in 1972, it featured on the album "Rhymes and Reasons". The album itself was a hit though this particular song is not that famous.
9. "Wake Me Up When ____ Ends" by Green Day

"Wake Me Up When September Ends" is a hit single by the American rock band Green Day. It was released in June 2005 and ended up being associated with the survivors of the Hurricane Katrina tragedy that struck the US in August 2005. However, the song was actually written by band's lead singer, Billie Joe Armstrong, in memory of his father who had died when Armstrong was only ten years old.
10. "The Hunt for Red ___" by Tom Clancy

Tom Clancy's debut novel, "The Hunt for Red October" introduced us to Jack Ryan, a CIA analyst. Ryan went on to feature in many other novels by Clancy. Set during the Cold War, the 'Red October' of the title refers to a submarine belonging to the Soviet Union.

The success of the novel resulted in it being adapted for the big screen. The movie, sharing the same name, starred Sean Connery and Alec Baldwin in lead roles.
11. Sweet ____

The 2001 film "Sweet November" is a typical tearjerker. Workaholic male lead falls for the spirited female lead who helps him to live life, only to then find out she's suffering from a terminal illness. The film was a damp squib at the box office. To add insult to injury, the lead pair of Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron earned nominations for the Worst Actor and Actress respectively at the Golden Raspberries.
12. "A Long ____" by Counting Crows

"A Long December" is a single released by rock band Counting Crows in 1996. It features on their album "Recovering the Satellites". The song was inspired by an accident faced by the lead singer's friend and his road to recovery. The music video for the song starred Courtney Cox, famous at the time for her role as Monica Gellar on the hit sitcom "Friends".
