Answer: Rhomann Dey

Mortally injured while chasing the intergalactic pirate Zorr, Nova Prime Rhomann Dey passed on his powers to young Richard Rider, who was just finished playing a basketball game. Nova's origin mirrors that of DC's Silver Age Green Lantern. These events happened in "Nova" #1, issued in September of 1976.
2. In the fourth issue of "Nova", our energy-powered hero battles Thor, Asgardian god of thunder. Where does the battle begin?

Answer: In the high school gym

Thor's mind was taken over by the Corruptor, and the two heroes battled it out in Richard Rider's high school gym. When the villains reverts to his human self, his hold over the thunder god disappears, and Thor and Nova become allies. The issue went on sale in December of 1976.
3. After the Kree-Skrull War, Nova lost his powers.

Lady Sphinx, an immortal villain, was in love with Nova's archenemy the Sphinx! She created an alternate reality so that the two could be together, but it didn't quite work out as planned, for she had only her cat as a reminder of Sphinx. When Nova threatened the kitty, she let the New Warriors go. These events happened in 1991, in "New Warriors" #11-13.

SuperNova is actually a former member of the Nova Corps who insanely hungers for more power. Actually Garthan Saal, he was given nearly all the Nova power by Queen Adora, but he went insane from the upgrade and fought Nova to get even more power. "The Starlost" storyline ran in "New Warriors" #40-42, which debuted in 1993.

He then accidentally fires it back at the three aliens, seemingly killing them. The first issue of the second "Nova" series appeared in 1994.

Tailhook's first name was Marissa, whose sister had been attacked by fellow U.S. Naval officers and had been blacklisted for testifying against them. Swearing vengeance, Tailhook used a whip to kill suspected rapists, forcing Nova to attempt to stop her in "Nova" volume 2, number 2, debuting in 1994.
