1. Black Panther (2018)

Answer: Movie

'Black Panther' is a movie released in 2018 as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie picks up the story of T'Challa aka Black Panther following the events of 'Captain America: Civil War'. T'Challa returns to the fictional, highly technologically advanced, African country of Wakanda to take the throne following the death of his father. The movie centres on T'Challa's/Black Panther's defence of Wakanda against the villain Killmonger and the arms dealer Ulysses Klaue.

T'Challa/Black Panther was played by Chadwick Boseman who died of cancer in 2020. A sequel, 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever', was released in 2022, although not featuring Boseman who had died prior to the movie being made.
2. Moonlight (2016)

'Moonlight' is a 2016 movie based on Tarell Alvin McCraney's unpublished play 'In the Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue'. The movie follows the character of Chiron through three states in his life as he moves from childhood to adolescence and his early adult life. The movie considers topics such as abuse and sees Chiron explore issues related to sexuality and identity.

'Moonlight' won the Oscar for Best Picture in 2017 following an infamous incident where 'La La Land' was named Best Picture by mistake.
3. Selma (2014)

'Selma' is a 2014 historical drama movie depicting the Selma to Montgomery protest marches organised by African-Americans who wanted an end to discrimination over voting rights. The movie portrays many real life people including Martin Luther King Jr, Lyndon B. Johnson and George Wallace, the Governor of Alabama.

'Selma' was nominated for a number of Oscars in 2015 and won the award for Best Original Song.
4. Lincoln (2012)

'Lincoln' is a 2012 biopic based on the final four months of US President Abraham Lincoln's life. Lincoln is played by Daniel Day-Lewis who won the 2013 Oscar for Best Actor for the role. The movie focuses on Lincoln's attempts to abolish slavery by passing the 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution.
5. 12 Years a Slave (2013)

'12 Years a Slave' is a movie from 2013 based on the memoir of the same title from 1853 by Solomon Northup. Chiwetel Ejiofor plays Solomon Northup, a man who is kidnapped in Washington, D.C. and sold into slavery for twelve years before he is released. The movie won three Oscars in 2014 for Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay.
6. Homeland (2011)

'Homeland' first aired in 2011 and ran for eight seasons. The show focuses on the characters of CIA officer Carrie Mathison and Nicholas Brody, a Marine Corps sniper who was held prisoner by al-Qaeda. Mathison believes that during his capture Brody was "turned" by al-Qaeda and is now working against the USA.

The series stars Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison and Damian Lewis as Nicholas Brody.
7. The Crown (2016)

'The Crown' is a TV show made by Netflix based on the history of the British royal family during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The series is inspired by real events but is in parts fictionalised as many of the 'behind closed doors' conversations and events are not publicly recorded or available.

The first season aired in 2016. The cast changes every two seasons to reflect the aging of the characters with Queen Elizabeth II being portrayed by Claire Foy, Olivia Colman and Imelda Staunton throughout the show.
8. 9-1-1 (2018)

'9-1-1' is a TV drama focusing on the lives and work of first responders in Los Angeles. The central characters are the firefighters and paramedics of Station 118, police officer Sergeant Athena Grant and workers at the 911 dispatch centre. A spin-off series set in Austin, Texas called '9-1-1: Lone Star' first aired in 2020.
9. Better Call Saul (2015)

'Better Call Saul' is a TV show spinoff from the show 'Breaking Bad'. The show explores the back story of the character Saul Goodman, a lawyer who appears in 'Breaking Bad'. The show ran for six seasons from 2015 to 2022.
10. Veep (2012)

'Veep' is an American political satire sitcom which ran for seven seasons between 2012 and 2019. The show follows the character of Selina Meyer who is a fictional Vice President of the United States. 'Veep' was created by Armando Iannucci as a US version of his British political sitcom 'The Thick of It'. Julia Louis-Dreyfus won six Primetime Emmy Awards for her role as Selina Meyer.
11. Watch Dogs (2014)

'Watch Dogs' is a video game originally released in 2014 for Playstation, Xbox, PC and Wii U. The game is an action-adventure game using the third-person perspective with an open world game environment. The game is set in a fictionalised version of the city of Chicago in the USA.

The player takes on the role of hacker Aiden Pearce who can use his smartphone to control and manipulate aspects of the game world in order to complete the missions required.
12. Red Dead Redemption (2010)

'Red Dead Redemption' is a 2010 video game made by Rockstar Games. The game has a Western setting and takes place in the early 20th Century during the decline of the American frontier. The main character is John Marston a former outlaw who has to work for the government as a ransom for his kidnapped wife and son.

The game uses the third-person perspective and features an open world which the player can freely roam to find missions and other challenges to complete. 'Red Dead Redemption' was originally released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

A prequel to the game called 'Red Dead Redemption 2' was released in 2019.
13. Forza Horizon 4 (2018)

'Forza Horizon 4' is an open world racing game and is part of the 'Forza' franchise. The game is set in Great Britain and features representations of many famous cities and areas including Edinburgh, the Lake District and the Cotswolds. The game features changing seasons which causes the in game weather to change which affects the gameplay, for example by letting players drive on to a frozen lake in winter.

The game was released for Windows PC and the Xbox One console in 2018 with a version for the Xbox Series X/S released in 2020.
14. Rocket League (2015)

'Rocket League' is a multiplayer game where players play a version of soccer using rocket powered vehicles. The game was originally released for the PlayStation 4 in 2015 with Xbox, Windows PC and Nintendo Switch versions being available later on. in 2016 versions were released for macOS and Linux computers but these versions stopped being supported in 2020.

The game used to require purchase of a base game but from 2020 has been free-to-play. 'Rocket League' is a popular game for esports and had its first championship in 2016.
15. Super Mario Odyssey (2017)

'Super Mario Odyssey' is part of the 'Super Mario' series and was released for the Nintendo Switch console in 2017. The game sees Mario explore various kingdoms in order to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser. The game uses a 3D platform style. In 'Super Mario Odyssey' Mario is assisted by Cappy, a sentient hat who can be used to control objects and characters to help Mario solve puzzles and progress through the game.
