Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Bison

You will find the American bison on grasslands and prairies. Being herbivores, they only eat plants and grass. The bison is a very big animal and can weigh up to 2,200 pounds (997 kg) and reach a height of six feet tall (182 cm).

A lot of people think the bison and buffalo are the same animal, but they are not the same. Bison are native to North and South America and Europe, while the buffalo is found in Africa and Asia. One way to spot the difference between a bison and a buffalo is that the bison has a very large head and has a hump on its shoulders, whereas the buffalo has a small head with no bump.
2. Bearded Dragon

The scientific name for bearded dragons is Pogona, and they are indigenous to Australia. The average size for a male bearded dragon is 19-24 inches in length (48-60 cm) and weighs between 400-550 grams (14-19 oz). Compared to a komodo dragon, they are about a fifth of the size.

Bearded dragon gets its name from the spikes under its chin that resemble a beard. The beaded dragon has a triangular-shaped head and can be coloured red, yellow, orange, or black depending on the habitat.
3. Komodo Dragon

The Komodo dragon can be found in the Indonesian islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, and Gili Motang. It is the largest of all the lizards in the world, and due to its power and size, it's a super predator.

An average-size adult male can weigh up to 90.9-135 kg (200-300 lbs.) and 2.5-3.18 m (8½-10½ ft) total adult body length. It's easy to spot a Komodo with a large head, very long claws, a long tail, and looks very solidly built. Depending on the habitat, the Komodo's colour can be brown, grey, black, green, or blue.
4. Hare

Many parts of the world, including North America, Africa, and Eurasia, are home to hares. Although hares belong to the same family as rabbits, they are different species.

If you look at the image, the hare has larger ears than a rabbit, amber eyes, and a russet brown colour, with the underside being lighter. On average, a hare grows to a length of 45-65 cm (17"-24") and weighs around 2-5.3 kilograms (2-11 lb). Hares don't live in groups like rabbits; they either live in pairs or keep themselves to themselves.
5. Rabbit

Rabbits can be found in most of the world except Antarctica. They live in groups, unlike the hare. A rabbit is a lot smaller than a hare. In the photo, you will see the rabbit has shorter ears, has brown eyes, and the colour is more of a grey-brown body with a white/black bobtail.

On average, a rabbit will weigh 1.2-2 kg (2.6-4.4 lbs) and have a length of 40 cm (15").
6. Buffalo

The Cape buffalo is the largest member of the buffalo family. It can be found in parts of Southern Africa and East Africa. A fully grown male can weigh between 1,100 and 2,200 pounds (500-997 kg). Its diet consists mainly of different types of grasses. The buffalo lives in large herds and can be anywhere from a few dozen to many 1000s in size.
7. Okapi

You would find the Okapi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Central Africa. The okapi stands typically about 1.5 m (4 ft 11 in) tall at the shoulder, and the body length is around 2.5 m (8 ft 2 in). Its weight ranges from 200 to 350 kg (440 to 770 lb). You could say it looks like a zebra, but with a long neck; in fact, it has a nickname of the zebra giraffe, among others. Colour-wise, it's a reddish brown with horizontal white stripes and rings on the legs and white ankles.
8. Moose

The moose lives in North America and Europe and a few other places. A mature male moose often weighs around 1,500 pounds (680 kg). Additionally, they typically measure 1.4-2.1 meters (4.6-6.9 feet) in height and 2.4-3.1 meters (7.9-10.2 feet) in length. The moose is the largest species of deer on the planet. Moose don't live in groups or herds and are considered solitary animals. The only time they mix is in the breeding season. The female moose doesn't have horns.
9. Cheetah

The cheetah can be found on the Savannah Plains and open forests of sub-Saharan Africa and north-eastern Iran. The average weight for the cheetah is between 75 and 125 pounds (34 and 56 kg). On average, cheetahs stand 67-94 cm (26-37) inches tall at the shoulder and have an overall length up to 7.5 feet (228 cm).

The main visible difference between the cheetah and the leopard is the body shape. The cheetah has a small head, long legs, and a slimline body. Another way to spot the difference is the black markings on the face that run down from the eyes to the mouth.

These are known as the "tear lines".
10. Leopard

The leopard can be found in several countries in the world, including in Africa, Central Asia, India, and China. A fully grown adult will weigh on average 30.9-72 kg (68-159 lb) and have a length of 92-183 cm (36-72 in). The tail is 66-102 cm (26-40 in).

The leopard is much bigger than a cheetah; its body is far bulkier and is a lot heavier. The body is also shorter with thick legs. Leopards go hunting for food at night and will eat rodents, birds, monkeys, baboons, and even porcupines. In the daytime, they find somewhere safe to sleep and try to keep in the shade.
