Los Angeles, popularly known as L.A. or LAX, is the largest city in the American state of California. The town that eventually grew into this city was originally named El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles which translates to 'The Town of Our Lady the Queen of the Angels'.

It was named after Mary, the mother of Jesus. Best known for being the home of Hollywood, Los Angeles is also critical to trade and economy with its container port being one of the busiest in the world.

Located at an elevation of around 3,650 meters, La Paz is the highest capital city in the world.

Built in 1998, they held the position of the tallest buildings in the world till 2003, when the Taipei 101 tower in Taiwan surpassed their height.
