This wonderful children's story tells about the unlikely friendship of Charlotte the spider and Wilbur the pig. Charlotte attempts to keep Wilbur from being slaughtered by writing messages with her web. These messages include "terrific", "some pig", and "radiant".

Her efforts are successful, and Wilbur becomes a prize-winning pig of much fame. In the end Charlotte dies after reaching the end of her natural life span and Wilbur repays her by taking care of her eggs until they are hatched.
