1. Budapest
Budapest is the capital of Hungary. Pictured in this skyline shot is the famous St. Stephen's Basilica, (named for the first king of Hungary who is now a saint and whose hand is housed within in the building), and the Széchenyi Chain Bridge which spans the Danube and connects the old cities of Buda and Pest.
2. Stockholm
This is part of Stockholm, Sweden along the Stockholm waterfront called Strandvagen. Strandvagen was built in 1897 for the World's Fair and has been one of the most visited and exclusive neighborhoods in Stockholm ever since.
3. Moscow
The photo is of one of the most iconic skylines in Europe, that of Moscow, Russia. Seen here is St. Basil's Cathedral, with its iconic onion domes, in the world famous Red Square. Red Square is situated within the larger complex known as Moscow Kremlin.
4. Valletta
This is a view of Valletta, Malta from the Mediterranean Sea. The photo depicts part of Valletta's fortification walls and the Grand Harbor. The famous fort here is Fort St. Elmo which is shaped like a star.
5. Dublin
Dublin is the capital of Ireland. Seen in the photo is the famous Ha'penny Bridge which crosses the Liffey River. Also seen is the Liberty Dome, once the tallest building in Ireland, and Custom House which is now the headquarters of the local housing authority.
6. Madrid
Madrid is the capital of Spain. Seen here is the Catedral de la Almudena, the seat of the Archbishop of Madrid, which was consecrated in 1993 after construction was delayed for decades in the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War. Palacio Real de Madrid can also be seen. It is the largest royal palace in Europe and was once home to the Spanish Royal Family. Today, its function is largely ceremonial.
7. London
This is a scene from London, England specifically of the famous London Eye Ferris wheel. The London Eye sits on the south bank of the Thames near the Jubilee Gardens. At the time it opened in 2000, it was the world's tallest Ferris wheel but has since been surpassed.
8. Lisbon
The photo is of Sao Jorge Castle in Portugal's capital, Lisbon. Sao Jorge Castle is one of the most important places in Lisbon. Historically, it is believed the city was founded on the site as far back as the second century BC when the fortifications were first built and possibly even as long ago as the 8th century BC when people first lived in the area.
9. Prague
Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic. This is a photo of Prague's Old Town with the iconic Charles Bridge over the Vltava River. Prague Castle can also be seen. It was once the home of the kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman Emperors and other powerful rulers of the day. Today, it is the official office of the President of the Czech Republic.
10. Paris
This photo is of the iconic Eiffel Tower, one of the most famous sites in Paris, France and in the world. The Eiffel Tower lies alongside the Champs de Mars. Named after the Roman god of war, the Champs de Mars was once the training ground for the French military.
