Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the subtitle of this book?

Answer: Like: Why is there a giant eyeball on the dollar?

Dave says the engraver drank a lot of whiskey that day and blamed it on the squirrels. Unfortunately, this mistake was discovered too late.
2. Why does Dave say you need to read this book?

Answer: Chances are, when it comes to finances, you are a complete moron.

The truth hurts, or at least it did for me.
3. By 9000 B.C., the most commonly accepted form of money was cattle. What does Dave say was the worst thing about this system?

Answer: The cash registers were disgusting.

I guess you would need a getaway truck instead of a car if you held up a bank.
4. One-third of our Gross National Product is sent to the government each year in the form of taxes. According to Dave, what is the express purpose of sending them this money?

Answer: To be wasted.

I think we already suspected this.
5. Miscellaneous expenses are the biggest area of personal financial concern, cash-flow wise. Where does Dave say is a good place to cut back on these?

Answer: Your children.

You're probably just spoiling them with all the food, clothing, shelter, and medical care anyway.
6. Every day there are stories in the media about large companies losing huge sums of money. According to Dave, what is one important fact these stories teach us?

Answer: Executives of these companies do not necessarily know how to run a company better than you or a reasonably bright Labrador Retriever.

Most employees wonder how their bosses ever got to where they are. They're pretty sure it wasn't based on intelligence.
7. What does Dave cite as an example of a major corporation doing something that appeared to be clinically insane?

Answer: GM making the Pontiac Aztek.

This is exactly what I thought when I saw this car for the first time. However, the other choices are also pretty questionable.
8. Why does Dave say that corporate CEOs should be cautious in the running of their companies?

Answer: Because the authorities, in recent years, have become quite picky about enforcing rules that prohibit lying and stealing vast quantities of money.

There have actually been a few cases where the CEOs were convicted and sent to prisons without a tennis court.
9. According to Dave, how does medical insurance work?

Answer: You or your employer sends money to the insurance company every month. When you need treatment you notify the company. They then notify you that your treatment is only partially covered, or not at all.

The best strategy is to stay healthy, or die quickly.
10. According to Dave, what is a little known side effect of smoking?

Answer: Being eaten by wolves.

Packs of wolves have been known to congregate around smoke-free office buildings in the dead of winter waiting for someone to come outside for a smoke break.
I hope you enjoyed this quiz and also learned a thing or two. I hope to have another quiz soon on the remainder of the book.
