Ming and Ree are married in a ceremony officiated by Tsion Ben-Judah. Although Chang and Naomi do become romantically involved, they decide not to marry until after the Glorious Appearing. This is partly because everyone is so busy preparing for Armageddon, and partly because of their youth. Chloe and Buck are already husband and wife, and have been since early in the series. Leah appears to have feelings for Tsion, but the two do not get married in "Armageddon."

Chang takes advantage of the fact that New Babylon is blanketed in complete darkness to ask Rayford and Smitty to pick him up and take him to Petra. Chang, with the help of a technologically-oriented girl named Naomi, takes with him all the equipment necessary to continue to monitor New Babylon remotely.

When Chloe is left alone in a dark cell after being picked up by Global Community personnel, she fears both for her life and that she will give away important information about the Tribulation Force. Knowing that they plan to torture her, she begins to pray.

A man appears in her cell, calling himself Caleb. He brings light, and helps her pray for the strength to withstand her torture. Singing hymns the rest of the night, Chloe holds up remarkably when questioned by the Global Community.

As Chloe awaits her turn at the guillotine, a woman near her recognizes her. Confused about what to do, she asks Chloe for advice. Chloe explains to her how she can accept Christ, and the woman falls to her knees and becomes a believer. Additionally, Caleb appears and causes several others to convert before they are murdered.

Answer: Tsion

Tsion feels called to leave Petra, even knowing that Jerusalem was about to become a very violent place when Nicolae attacked. Of course, Nicolae also launched an attack on Petra, so there was no guarantee Tsion would make it through Armageddon in either place. However, Tsion bravely chooses to convert Jews right up to the end.

Shortly before Nicolae prepares the Global Community for war on the Judah-ites, he introduces a trio to his cabinet, a set of people he claims will help immensely in the battle to come. When the three first enter the cabinet meeting, they appear inanimate.

However, Nicolae and Leon breathe life into them. Their purpose is to unite the world against believers and incite them to make war. (For those not familiar with the work of Alexandre Dumas, Athos, Porthos and Aramis are the names of the Three Musketeers.)

Nicolae attacks Jerusalem and Petra, for they are the strongholds of the believers. Additionally, they hold biblical significance. Nicolae wishes to wipe out the Judah-ites permanently, and attacks with an enormous army. Nicolae does order an attack on both San Diego and Chicago, but the purpose of these attacks was to eliminate the headquarters of the Tribulation Force, not to vanquish all believers. Also, these attacks took place prior to the conclusion of "Armageddon."

Ming is the only one of the four Tribulation Force members mentioned above still standing at the end of "Armageddon." She had previously received a promise that she would survive to see the Glorious Appearing, so it is not really a surprise that she is still alive. Chloe is captured by the Global Community (GC), and executed by guillotine despite Buck and Rayford's prayers for her deliverance. Tsion is shot in the chest during the GC attack on Jerusalem. Albie is shot by an underworld contact desirous of the bounty received for killing those without the mark of the beast.

As "Armageddon" concludes, seven years have passed since Nicolae signed a treaty with Israel. This treaty marks the beginning of the seven-year Tribulation, at the end of which the Glorious Appearing will occur. Almost every single prophecy has taken place, and thus the believers anticipate that the Glorious Appearing will occur at any moment.

Answer: Either Rayford or Buck may have been mortally wounded.

As this book wraps up, Rayford loses control of the vehicle he is driving, and is thrown to the ground (both of these events are caused by bombs exploding near him). He strikes his head on a rock, and begins sliding down an incline. Simultaneously, Buck is standing on the wall of Jerusalem when a bomb falls, spraying shrapnel into the right side of his body and leaving him dangling from the wall.
