When fighting the Kalkara they say you should use a broad sword or battle axe to get through the thick plate-like fur. The fur has a wax on it that is very flammable so torches are a good idea. Wil killed the last Kalkara by using a fire arrow.

Morgarath hates Halt the most because Halt won the last battle by leading a cavalry charge through Thorntree Forest at Morgarath's wargals. Wargal's fear horses the most so they were routed easily.

After the Kalkara are defeated Baron Arald holds a celebration for Will. At this celebration Will is offered a place in Battleschool and is even given his own coat of arms. As his dreams become a reality Will starts to realise that he would miss Tug, Halt and the training of the Rangers. Will then declares to everyone present "I am a Ranger".

It is then that Will sees a small figure in the crowd. Halt. The rarest of things happen in that moment. Will gets a smile from Halt and that is the equal of three hearty cheers from the grizzled old Ranger.
