Answer: Hoth

Hoth is a snow-covered world in a system of the same name. The Rebel Alliance had a base on the planet but had to evacuate when the Empire discovered their location with a single probe droid. The shield the Rebels had protecting their base was strong enough to deflect any planetary bombardment. General Maximilian Veers led a ground assault with his newly developed AT-AT walkers and destroyed the shield generator, enabling Darth Vader to land and seize control of the planet.

Answer: Bespin

The gas giant Bespin is approximately 118,000 km in diameter. Bespin's atmosphere is composed of Tibanna gas while its core is liquid metal. There are a few floating, mining cities in the thin inhabitable band of air.

Answer: Endor

The gas giant of Endor is located in the Moddell sector where nine moons orbit it. The largest moon is where the Empire hid the shield generator for the second Death Star. When the small Rebel Alliance strike team led by Han Solo arrived on the moon they were helped by the native species, the Ewoks.

The strike team was able to destroy the shield generator in the surface skirmish and the Death Star was destroyed by Lando and Wedge in the space battle.

Answer: Coruscant

Coruscant was the capital of the Old Republic and was a beautiful city until Supreme Chancellor Palpatine was given emergency powers and turned the capital planet into the largest garrison. When Palpatine became Emperor, the planet became known as Imperial City. Seven years after the Battle of Yavin, the Rebel Alliance recaptured Coruscant and it became the capital of the New Republic.

The only non-covered part of Coruscant is the western sea.

Answer: Kamino

Kamino is a water-covered world with constant showers and with a verity of vicious creatures living in its depths. Topica city housed the main cloning facilities for the Republic Grand Army which were made from Jango Fett's DNA. Obi-Wan followed Jango off the planet and came to the world of Geonosis. Yoda briefly visited Kamino and took a large portion of the newly developed clone army and went to Geonosis to save Mace Windu's strike force.

Answer: Alderaan

Alderaan was a peaceful planet and was home to Princess Leia, one of the greatest heroes in the fight against the Empire. Grand Moff Tarkin destroyed the planet in a demonstration of the first Death Star's firepower. Many Rebel sympathisers were killed in that explosion but many of the Alderaanians who were off-planet joined the Rebel Alliance, making it an even bigger threat to the Empire.

The first planet destroyed was Despyre, the planet where the Death Star was constructed.

Answer: Yavin

Despite its remote location, the Yavin system has seen numerous battles. Yavin 4 is a particularly interesting moon; covered with temple ruins, some rebuilt and modernized, it has been the home of many species and organizations. The primitive Massassi were brought over by a Sith lord known as Naga Sadow, who used the Massassi as labourers to build the huge stone temples.

The Rebel Alliance used the Grand Temple as a base after Dantooine and destroyed the first Death Star just before it could fire its super laser at them.

Answer: Dagobah

Dagobah has lots of native species; most are predators. Yoda hid on the planet during the great Jedi purge and killed his only Sith follower in a cave that later many confused Jedi would enter. Luke found Yoda with the help of Obi-Wan and did a majority of his training there. Luke returned a year after he had left the first time to learn the truth about his father and see his second master disappear.

Answer: Naboo

Naboo is in the southern quadrant of the galaxy (wherever that is) and has one of the greatest histories and cultures. The Naboo are the human residents living on the dry, solid surface. The Gungans on the other hand are amphibians who live in large underwater cities.

The greedy Trade Federation, led by Nute Gunray, blockaded the planet and then invaded, 32 BBY. The current queen at the time, Padmé Amidala, escaped to Coruscant and tried to convince the senate to do something about it. When nothing was happening, the queen went back to Naboo and, with the help of the Gungans and their Grand Army, took back the planet.

Answer: Tatooine

Tatooine is located in the Tatoo system and is known for all the smugglers and pirates that thrive on the sandy rock. Regardless, it was also home to some important people in the Star Wars saga such as Anakin Skywalker and his son, Luke Skywalker. Jabba the Hutt also was based on Tatooine until he was killed by princess Leia in a skirmish on his sail barge, in the dune sea.

Other inhabitants of this desolate world are the Jawas, who are junk scavengers, and the Tusken Raiders, who will attack moisture farms for food and water.
