The Girls Trivia Quiz

Answer: Candace, Darcy, Brianna, Reneé and Maya

The most popular clique in seventh grade is run by Candace, the leader. Darcy, Brianna, Reneé, and Maya are the other girls in the group, who are only there because Candace thought they were interesting.

At the beginning of the book Maya is woken up by her excited sister, who tells her that they are going to Six Flags. Maya is even more excited when she finds out that she can invite a friend. First Reneé says she is busy. Then Candace acts rude on the phone. Finally Brianna's mom accidentally tells Maya that everyone is spending the night at Darcy's. Maya begins to wonder why she wasn't invited.

Answer: Maya, because she's 'out' now

At Darcy's house everyone is talking about Maya. When everyone is playing with wigs Candace puts one on and starts imitating Maya. Later when they are playing a game about animals Candace says that Maya would be a baby animal. Then the girls prank-call Maya.

Answer: She gets prank-called by Darcy.

At Darcy's, tension is running high because everyone is asking Darcy to prove her loyalty. Meanwhile, a day full of riding roller coasters has cleared Maya's mind, but the drive home is hard. She hopes that right when she gets home there will be a message waiting for her asking why she wasn't at Darcy's.

She's surprised when the phone starts ringing, but when she picks up, she realizes that Darcy is making fun of her on the other line.

Answer: She tells Reneé it is a secret between Candace and Darcy.

Reneé is the nicest member of the popular group. When she finds out Maya isn't invited to the sleepover, she is the only person who's concerned. She doesn't understand why everyone is mad at Maya, who has always been a very good friend. So she decides to ask Darcy about it. Darcy is embarrassed because Candace didn't tell her either.

She doesn't want to admit it, so she tells Reneé that it is a secret between Candace and Darcy.

Answer: Brianna says she doesn't hate Maya.

Brianna goes over to Candace's house to help baby-sit. First Brianna asks Candace how she should act when she sees Maya the next day. Candace thinks that it is a stupid question. Then Brianna tries to defend herself by saying that she can't hate Maya because she doesn't know what Maya did, and that she thinks that the fight is boring. Candace gets angry that Brianna called her boring and storms out of the room.

When they go back to school no one talks to Brianna.

Candace likes to play games with her friends, which involve her comparing her friends to objects like food or cars. At the party Candace starts playing a game about animals. First she says Darcy is a whippet, and then she tries to decide for Reneé. Brianna thinks of something pale and white, so she says an elephant. Nobody reacts and Reneé laughs it off.

At school Candace needs an excuse because she is mad at Brianna now, so she blames it on this and says that she's only trying to stick up for Reneé.

Answer: Nurse's office

Brianna is scared to go to most of her classes. The morning doesn't go well for her because Darcy and Candace get mad at her. Then she talks to Reneé and they both decide that they don't hate Maya. Brianna doesn't want to run into Candace because of the argument or Maya because of the prank calls. So she goes to the nurse's office.

She is going to go home but remembers that Candace's mom will have to pick her up because she doesn't have a job. So she ends up staying there and telling the story to the nurse. Finally, she has to go back to class at lunchtime.

Answer: Maya and Brianna

Reneé goes to lunch and stands with Maya. But she can't think of anything to say. Then Brianna shows up and they make up. After they get their food they don't know where to sit anymore but then they find a new table. When they look over at Candace and Darcy's table they see another girl named Nicole sitting with them.

But they don't care because they are happy they don't have to deal with Candace's mean games and Darcy's rude comments anymore. Brianna even says, "We're free!"

Answer: Nicole

At Darcy's party when everyone tried on wigs, a red one reminded Candace of Nicole's hair color. Later on when she was looking at the fire she thought about sparks and seeds and how they could become bigger than she was. On Monday Candace was in class when she looked over at Nicole's hair.

She thought that it was an amazing color and told Nicole she thought it looked great. Darcy saw Candace talking to Nicole and tried to get in the conversation, so Candace invited Nicole to "do lunch". Nicole becomes a new member of the group when she is invited to the mall after school, but when Darcy walks away Candace starts talking to Nicole about her. Nicole realizes that Darcy isn't a real friend and vows to 'help' Candace get rid of her. I hope you enjoyed the book and my quiz!
