They didn't so they were planning to change or kill Bella because she knew to much about vampires.

In "New Moon" Aro wanted to see if Bella is amount to all volturi powers and Edward didn't want that so he yelled "NO" and Jane said "Pain" and Edward dropped to the floor in serous pain! But when she tried it on Bella, nothing!

In "Breaking Dawn" Bella was upset because the Volturi were coming and Alice, Jasper, Carlisle, and Esme were gone Alice and Jasper went somewhere and the other two were out hunting far away! Rosalie and Emmett were upstairs. So Renesmee touched Bella's cheek telling her "Don't cry Mommy it's going to be ok!" and then Renesmee started crying feeling sad for Bella!
