These are also the first words of the film. Alice is distracted by Dan, who she sees across the street. She doesn't see the taxi coming, and walks right into the street. She says "hello stranger" to Dan, who takes her to the hospital even though he doesn't know her.

After Alice is checked out at the hospital, Dan and Alice discuss his career while spending some time together.
