Interesting bit of trivia: it was the first Disney film (through Touchstone Pictures) to be rated R.

"Down to Earth", the story of a comedian who is given a second chance on Earth after he is killed, was directed by Chris and Paul Weitz. It is the third adaptation of Harry Segall's 1938 stage play "Heaven Can Wait". The first was 1941's "Here Come Mr. Jordan" (starring Robert Montgomery) and the second was 1978's "Heaven Can Wait" (starring Warren Beatty).

Steve Martin plays a lawyer who meets a woman on the Internet, Queen Latifah. It turns out that Latifah's character has escaped from prison and soon turns Martin's character's life upside down. Directed by Adam Shankman, the film was a box office success, landing No. 1 for three consecutive weeks, and profiting more than $100 million.

Answer: Falling Down (1993)

A divorced and unemployeed defense engineer, played by Douglas, has a very difficult day in hot Los Angeles trying desperately to attend his daughter's birthday. It's the film that knocked "Groundhog Day" out of the top box office spot and went on to gross nearly $100 million.

It was directed by Joel Schumacher, who helmed a wide variety of films - from "Car Wash" to "Batman Forever" to the musical version of "The Phantom of the Opera".

Answer: The Rescuers Down Under (1990)

One of the two animated films in this quiz, "The Rescuers Down Under" was a rare animated sequel before that later became a popular studio strategy. Like 1977's "The Rescuers", it tells the story of two mice who travel to help children in trouble. This time, Bernard (Bob Newhart) and Miss Bianca (Eva Gabor) go to Australia to battle the evil Percival C. McLeach (played by George C. Scott). Though not a computer animated film, it was the first animated film to be completely created digitally.

Answer: White House Down (2013)

Channing Tatum plays a U.S. Capitol Police officer who must rescue the President (Jamie Foxx) after a terrorist attack on the White House. It was directed by Roland Emmerich, known for big speculative action films like "Independence Day", "The Day After Tomorrow", and "2012". Oddly, a film with a very similar plot, "Olympus Has Fallen", was released only three months earlier.

Answer: Up the Down Staircase (1967)

Sandy Dennis plays a young teacher who spends her first year at an overcrowded, poorly-funded New York City high school. Directed by Robert Mulligan, it's based on the popular 1965 novel of the same name, written by Bel Kaufman. This was Sandy Dennis's first lead role after winning the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" the year before.
