Answer: Jailhouse Rock (1957)

"Jailhouse Rock" was Elvis Presley's third film after "Love Me Tender" (1956) and "Loving You" (1957). Presley is Vince Everett, a young man convicted of manslaughter after he kills a man (by accident) in a brawl. While in prison, he learns to play the guitar and turns out to be a terrific musician. Once out of prison, he finds his way (with some missteps along the way) to fame and fortune.

A number of Elvis songs were featured during the film, but the song "Jailhouse Rock" spent seven weeks at #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Answer: Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975)

"Picnic at Hanging Rock" is an Australian film set in the year 1900. Neither the film nor the novel on which it is based ever explains exactly what happened when the girls went on their picnic at Hanging Rock. The mysterious disappearances could not be explained, neither by witnesses, nor by the one girl who reappeared! The story is essentially about the mystery, and how it affects those in the community and the school.

In 1987, after the author's death, the final chapter of the novel was published as "The Secret of Hanging Rock".

Despite realizing his dream, Wahlberg's character Chris Cole finds his new lifestyle to be unfulfilling, especially when the Steel Dragon band members are not interested in his creative input on any new songs. Realizing that he is just a mouthpiece (pun intended), Cole finds another fan to replace him in mid-concert, and returns to his old, more satisfactory existence.

Jack Black stars as Dewey Finn, the aforementioned failed rock musician. Upon taking the substitute position in a fifth-grade class, Dewey proceeds to be the worst-ever teacher, taking no interest in the kids until he hears them playing music. Answer: The Hand that Rocks the Cradle (1992)

After Claire Bartel (Annabella Sciorra) is molested by her obstetrician, she and her husband file charges (along with other couples who experienced the same thing). As a result, Dr. Mott kills himself, leaving his own pregnant wife behind, who miscarriages. Bent on revenge, Mrs. Mott (Rebecca De Mornay) assumes a false identity and manages to secure a position as a nanny with the Bartel family. From there she works diligently to destroy their lives, cleverly insinuating all sorts of secret atrocities.

Answer: Detroit Rock City (1999)

"Detroit Rock City" features Edward Furlong (Hawk), Sam Huntington (Jam), Giuseppe Andrews (Lex) and James DeBello (Trip) as the four teens who are avid KISS fans hoping to make the trip from Cleveland (Ohio) to Detroit (Michigan) to see them in concert. Their plan is discovered, though, and Jam's mother rips up their tickets in front of them.

After Trip wins more tickets in a radio contest, the boys all sneak away and make the trip after all. Chaos ensues when it is discovered upon arriving in Detroit that Trip had neglected to give proper contact information, and the tickets have been given to someone else.

Answer: Rock Around the Clock (1956)

Along with Bill Haley and His Comets, other musicians featured in the film were The Platters, Tony Martinez and His Band, Freddie Bell and His Bellboys, as well as disc jockey Alan 'Moondog' Freed.

Band manager Steve Hollis (played by Johnny Johnston) discovers Bill Haley and his band in a small farm town, and endeavors to make them famous. His efforts, however, are hindered by agent Corinne Talbot (Alix Talton) who is trying to get Hollis to marry her instead of Hollis' current love interest, dancer Lisa Johns (Lisa Gaye).

Answer: Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll (2010)

The film took its name from Ian Dury's 1977 single "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll", which is not so much about the excesses in life as it is about realizing that there is more to life than the day-to-day 9 to 5 existence.

The film focuses on his struggles in dealing with his disability (from having polio) how that and the rock musician lifestyle affected his relationships along the way.

Answer: The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas (2000)

None of the main cast from the 1994 film "The Flintstones" reprized their roles for this prequel. This time it is Mark Addy (Fred) and Stephen Baldwin (Barney) who meet Wilma (Kristen Johnston) and Betty (Jane Krakowski) and ask them out. Unfortunately for Fred, Wilma's family is set on her getting together with rich casino-owner Chip Rockefeller (Thomas Gibson).

The action moves to Rock Vegas, where Chip hopes to discredit Fred in Wilma's eyes at his casino.

Ed Harris plays the disgruntled military general who carries out this heinous act, threatening to launch deadly VX-gas rockets on San Francisco. He wants the government to pay 100 million dollars compensation for soldiers who have died on clandestine missions without any recognition.

The government, in turn, sends in an elite force to retake the island, along with a chemical weapons specialist (Nicolas Cage) and a criminal known for having escaped Alcatraz (Sean Connery).
