He is placed in a an artificial simulated environment for study. Anthropologist Stanley Shephard (Timothy Hutton) enters the habitat to try and communicate with the cave man and gives him the name Charlie. Afraid of what the scientists might do to Charlie, Shephard helps Charlie to escape.

"Firestarter" is a 1984 science fiction horror film starring David Keith, Heather Locklear, Drew Barrymore, Martin Sheen, and George C. Scott. The story is about two college students who volunteer to participate in an experiment in which they were given a dose of a drug called LOT-6.

The drug gave the duo telepathic and mind control abilities. They get married and have a daughter named Charlene "Charlie" who develops the power of fire just by thinking of it. When a government agency wants to weaponize Charlie's power, they kill her mother and try to kill her father.

Her father manages to escape with Charlie and are chased by agents throughout the movie.

"Splash" is a 1984 American romantic fantasy comedy film starring Tom Hanks, Daryl Hannah, John Candy, and Eugene Levy. Allen Bauer (Tom Hanks) is the co-owner of a produce business who decides to take a vacation at Cape Cod. After falling off a small boat he is rescued by a mermaid who manages to find Allen when he returns to New York. Able to sprout legs when she is out of water, the mermaid, and Allen start a romantic relationship.

A scientist who has been searching for the mermaid catches up to her and she is captured. Allen manages to free her and both of them jump into the ocean where Allen is now able to breathe under water because of the mermaid's magic.

Answer: The Bounty

"The Bounty" is a 1984 British epic historical drama film starring Mel Gibson as Fletcher Christian and Anthony Hopkins as Captain William Bligh. It is the fifth remake of the story about the mutiny on HMS Bounty. During an expedition to Tahiti to gather breadfruit, the crew endure harsh treatment by the Captain during the voyage.

The crew mutinies on their way back home and set the Captain and some of his officers adrift in a lifeboat. The crew sails back to Tahiti for supplies and then set sail for an island that isn't on any maps.

They find the island and burn and sink the ship to prevent being discovered.

"Children of the Corn" is a 1984 supernatural slasher film starring Peter Horton and Linda Hamilton. While traveling in their car through Nebraska, a young couple, Burt (Peter Horton) and Vicky (Linda Hamilton), hit a young boy who stumbles onto the road after getting his throat slashed.

While looking for help, the children of the town, led by an older child named Isaac, capture Vicky in order to sacrifice her to a deity called "He Who Walks Behind the Rows". Burt manages to free Vicky from the corn field and Isaac by tossing a Molotov cocktail and setting the field on fire.

The couple escape the town with two of the nice children who helped them.

"Gremlins" is a 1984 comedy horror film starring Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, Hoyt Axton, Polly Holliday, and Frances Lee McCain. While in Chinatown, struggling inventor Randall Peltzer (Hoyt Axton) finds an interesting looking animal called a mogwai and buys it for his son Billy's (Zach Galligan) birthday.

Instructions for the care of the creature are, keep it out of sunlight, don't let it get wet, and never feed it after midnight. Billy names his pet Gizmo and when he accidentally spills water on him, five more mogwai pop from its skin.

When the five new ones eat after midnight they turn into cocoons and hatch into mischievous little monsters called "Gremlins". The meanest of them jumps into a pool of water which creates hundreds of Gremlins that wreak havoc on the town.

"Red Dawn" is a 1984 action drama film starring Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen, C. Thomas Howell, Lea Thompson and Jennifer Grey. When a Soviet invasion occurs in the town of Calumet, Colorado, some high school students manage to escape the attack and hide in the woods.

They form a small fighting force, call themselves 'Wolverines', and begin attacking the invasion force. After months of fighting, the Soviet forces leave America and the names of the Wolverines that died in battle are inscribed on a stone monument.

When Samantha "Sam" Baker (Molly Ringwald) turns 16 on her birthday, her entire family forgets because they are preparing for Sam's older sister's wedding the next day. Saddened, she goes to school and dreams about her crush who happens to be going out with the most popular girl in school. Sam also has to deal with a nerd who keeps hitting on her. Sam does manage to get the boy she likes and the nerd ends up going out with the most popular girl.
